The Outrigger is one of the icons of Honolulu and that's one of the reasons my family and I have stayed here so many times over the years. Here's a list of things that are pretty much unbeatable at the Outrigger:
    1. View
    2. location, location location (next to the Manoa surfriders and on the beach)
    3. restaurant-- with Duke's and the Hula Grill, it's pretty great
    4. the price is right

With all that in mind, I'd not stay anywhere else next time I visit Honolulu.

For those who came to Waikiki for the beach. You're right there. No need to schlep all your playthings to the beach. Helpful staff, terrific views from most rooms, and they'll accomodate you if you've brought your own board or kayak.

    A great hotel for singles!
Duke's Restaurant is a major Waikiki hangout and the party is on the beach every night!
The rooms are good and the location is one of the most central.
It is connected to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center and across from the International Marketplace.
The main surf school is 100 feet away...
It is a great place to stay and be in the heart of everything.

Located right in the heart of Waikiki and along the famous Kalakaua Ave, this is a great spot to stay. It's close to many great restaurants, shops, and bars. The hotel offers many cultural classes and other nice hotel amenities.

This was a great location, right on Waikiki beach. The restaurant, also right on the beach, was good and very convenient. Next time, we'll spring for a larger room.

The Outrigger is a hawaiian classic and I've stayed here a couple times, most recently on my trip to Oahu last winter. The service here is friendly and expedient and everything else you should expect given the rates, which are not cheap. Besides the great access to the beach and the beach supplies available (we got towels and chairs everyday), the breakfast at Duke's is delicious. I ate at Dukes everyday.

The Outrigger Waikiki is a great choice for anyone heading to Oahu. Price of admission is a bit steep, but the combination of comfortable accommodations and great location make it one of the best all-around hotels in the area. It has two excellent restaurants on site in Dukes and Hula Grill. The hotel is directly on the beach, and has a very nice private pool and bar literally steps from the waves. Additionally, it's just across the street from the international marketplace and a short walk from the dozens of other popular Waikiki attractions and restaurants. The Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach is easily among the top ten best hotels on Oahu.

Directly overlooking Waikiki and the beautiful Pacific Ocean this hotel is in the prime location. Sandwiched between the famous Moana Surfrider and The Royal Hawaiian hotel it is in the very heart of Waikiki. There are three restaurants as well as a small (but amazing!) sandwich shop. The staff here are very courteous and helpful. It is expensive, but you are getting what you pay for. Make sure to soak up some sun at the pool deck where a Duke's waitress will gladly bring you a "dig-me daquari" to sip on!
