I would say Pa Pa Walk has the best Taiwanese shaved snow ice in SGV. If you're looking for shaved snow and a variety of toppings such as: different fruits, puddings, boba AND ice cream, this would be the place. Pa Pa Walk is known for Taiwanese food and it's quite small. They share parking lots with other restaurants and stores, so try to back underground and not risk your car getting scratched at the top floor.
Food Recommendation: Beef noodle soup! You can either get regular noodles or spinach noodles. (additional cost)
Drinks: Green milk tea! You can never go wrong with that. They also have other variety of milk teas and teas.Recommended for:Foodies

PA PA Walk has some of the best snow ice in the 626 area, and that's saying A LOT. They have two variants: shaved ice and snow ice. The snow ice is much finer, creamier, smoother, so if you haven't tried it, make sure to get that. You can also get it in different flavors like green tea (yum!). Make sure that you get there earlier than later if you want to try the snow ice because sometimes they run out!

just another snow/boba/restaurant on valley... nothing that outstanding but it is cheap...
So when a friend asks if you want to get snow with them. Do not be offended. It is not blow, coke, etc. It's more realistically defined as shaved snow with fruit dredged and covered with condensed milk. This is a very popular Asian desert.
This is also the reason we came here to PAPA Walk... Shaved snow. However it seemed like every other shaved snow joint I have been to just about. They have Taiwanese/Chinese food, boba, and snow. Most people come here for the desert. This particular place is pretty cheap which is a big help.
Pro Tip: It's a hidden place on the bottom floor of the Ajisen Ramen plaza across from the mall and next to the Hilton.
I have had a boba and some snow from here. I find the snow not very much to my likely as a general rule. It is just soooo sweet to me that I have a hard time with it. But all of my friends seemed to like the snow quite a bit. The boba was pretty typical. Nothing monumental or special. I think everyone should check out the bathroom sign as its pretty dayem funny. I also think that a lot of other snow places likely do it better, but not as cheap.
So yeah I view this place as just another average joint on the boulevard of Valley as it rolls through Alhambra...

After some great pork dumplings, we had to finish up with a great dessert place. We were in the mood for something savory, and this place fit the bill. To start, this place is a hidden gem. I have always been a fan of shaved snow, and one of my favorites is their Mango. They are not shy on the Mango slices, as there are a good amount of them in this dish. Great flavor, not bitter, and just the right amount of sweetness.
Service is great, even when they are busy, the delivery of the food is very good.
Parking is easiest, if you decide to park in their underground parking structure. You could choose a side street, but its faster if you just do it this way.

PaPa walk is my favorite place to order Mango Snow. For some reason, no matter what time of the season you go, they always manage to have fresh ripe sweet mangos! The mangos are sweet, soft, and juicy. Pair that with the delicate cool snow and you have a winning combo. This is a terrific light dessert that is a MUST TrY during the hot summer days.
Located in the same plaza as the San Gabriel Hilton, hidden behind the stairs. Get a foot massage before you cool down with some mango snow!

Papa Walk is hard to find if you don't know where it's located. It's inside the same plaza as Ajisen Ramen but hidden right behind the stairs in the middle of the plaza.
This place is just like any typical Taiwanese restaurant. They have all the classic dishes. I personally haven't had any savory food here but my friends say that Sinbala in Arcadia is much better.
We went for their shaved snow and it was pretty darn good. My favorite is the mango snow with lots of mango slices and condensed milk. Their mango was surprising ripe and sweet when it wasn't even the season for it.
There's plenty of parking underneath the plaza for free since they share parking with the Hilton.

okay, so when you think hunan chicken rice... you think Savoy when you are in the San Gabriel/Monterey Park area. Me? I did too until I came to PA PA Walk. I have to admit I feel like Savoy has deteriorated in the last few years... and this place just takes it up a notch. It's a gotta try... then to top it off. I'm not a coffee person... I'm not even into cappuccino... but have you ever had shaved ice cappuccino... ahem. Just do it and get in a car and drive over here and try it out. The ice is like snow flakes... isn't that enough to just try it out? I think so...

This is a small Taiwanese restaurant with some decent beef noodle soup and stinky tofu. However, I love going here just for some shaved ice. Make sure to share with a friend or two as they are huge. Definitely try the mango shaved ice if in season.
