This is our ultimate favorite not-trying-too-hard, not-spending-too-much, feels-like-your-little-secret-though-it's-not spot. Hands down, the best (semi-affordable) date spot in town, though it may feel like overkill on Valentine's Day. We'd save it for a day Jen Garner hasn't been in a movie about.

This unsuspecting (read: hidden below a small supermarket in Laurel Canyon) restaurant offers some fantastic Italian food in a very cozy, relaxed atmosphere. I tried a plate of linguini with prosciutto and peas in a white wine cream sauce and it was heaven. They have a really nice wine selection, and the art work (and people watching - Pace definitely has a good-looking crowd) is enough to keep you entertained while waiting for your food.

Delicious Italian food fused with LA's love of Organic Healthy cuisine! Not to mention a part of history as the restaurant is situated next to the very market where famed artists like Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell would sit and hang out.

In the same building as the Canyon Country Market, below and to the south, is Pace restaurant – a hidden, intimate Italian restaurant. It's got great food and nice atmosphere, and can get crowded on weekends, so reservations are a good idea. Parking is limited: it’s fairly convenient if you’re going to the Country Store, and the valet service is recommended if you’re dining at Pace. Jim Morrison’s old house is behind the market –it’s the one with bell above the entry.

I love Pace so much because of it's discreet location in the midst of Laurel Canyon. The place is so romantic and the food is divine. The name Pace means Peace in Italian. This is an amazing date spot but also lovely with a group of friends.
