When an entire book has been written about a single hotel, you know the place has got some serious historical clout. From Amelia Earhart and Kevin Bacon to Woodrow Wilson and Hillary Clinton, the list of visiting dignitaries is a who's who of modern history. Brunch or afternoon tea in the marble column and glass-domed Garden Court has been a tradition for a century. Not staying here? Come for a free tour, every Saturday and Tuesday at 10am or Thursday at 2pm.

If you're a luxury traveler, then The Palace Hotel is where you'll want to stay. It is one of SF's most beautiful and grand landmarks, and holds so much interesting history. For anyone searching for a venue to have their wedding, this hotel would definitely provide you with a fairytale setting. The Garden Court is spectacular as it is. Enjoy one of their lovely brunches or throw an opulent affair there.

SF's Grande Dame #1! Such history - 1906 & Caruso, Woodrow Wilson, Warren Harding, even Khruschev. Even though the structure is a total replacement for the original destroyed in 1906, it retains the elegance of the Gilded Age. Attended many events and conferences here. Good service for same. Garden Court is breathtakingly beautiful. Yet to try High Tea or the Pied Piper's Lounge.Recommended for:History Buffs

There isn't much to say from what's already been said here. Luxurious, spacious, elegant at its finest in downtown San Francisco. It is walking distance to Union Square, the Ferry Building, or AT&T Park. The staff is accommodating and gives you first class treatment. If you're in San Francisco for a few days, this is one of the best places to stay!

Whenever I'm here, I feel like I'm arriving for some turn-of-the-century debutante ball, or having a tryst with my railroad baron lover in 1892. I think I could stare at the Garden Court ceiling for a solid week before tiring of it. I had a first date once in the Pied Piper Bar (he got one full point, just for suggesting it). And the Sunday brunch in the Garden Court is one of the great San Francisco traditions. My next plan: their Saturday high tea, one of the most legendary spots for afternoon tea in the entire US.

The Palace Hotel is one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings in SF. If you're looking for a central place to stay when traveling to the city, or just looking for a great weekend retreat for a little "staycation," the Palace Hotel is always a great choice.

One of the grand dames of San Francisco, the Palace oozes traditional opulence with its marbles, woods, and crystals. The service here is always top notch. This historical hotel is really beautiful inside and out.

The Palace is a Luxury Collection property with a lot of old world elegance. The location is very central to a lot of great restaurant and shopping options. The Lobby is very grand and spacious. They host a traditional English tea on most days. I really love the beautiful grand staircases that you can take to get to your room if you dont want to take the elevator. I had a beautiful suite with crystal chandeliers, a fireplace and a very large living room. The bathroom had a tub and a shower with high-end bath products. I also enjoyed the pool and and gym facilities that they had. You are bound to have a great stay if you choose the Palace.
