Palace of Fine Arts

3301 Lyon Street, San Francisco, CA 94123-1002
148 reviews

San Francisco is truly a spectacular city, both due to its distinct architecture and hilly, scenic landscape, but apart from the staple of Golden Gate Bridge, the Palace of Fine Arts is the best spot to truly relax in the iconic Foggy City. Not only is it in a laid back, elegant neighborhood, but the lack of crowds makes it ...

    The Walt Disney Family Museum

0.56 mi from Palace of Fine Arts
    24 reviews

Located in the Presidio, this is a must see for anyone who loves Disney. You learn about Walt Disney's life, plus get a look at his work on several films, many of which have become classics. One of my favorite parts of the museum is a mini replica of the Disneyland park. There are also quarterly art installments that can ...

    Marina Green

0.58 mi from Palace of Fine Arts
    12 reviews

I have memories of the Marina Green from when I was a kid. An Army brat, I spent some time living in the Presidio when it was still a military base. It was a unique experience, especially given how many of the buildings and signs from the old days are still visible now. One of my favorite memories was walking ...

    Swedenborgian Church

0.87 mi from Palace of Fine Arts
    1 review

Established in 1895. Built in 1895 in Pacific Heights by a coterie of artists, architects and spiritual seekers, the historic Swedenborgian Church is rustic and charming in the Arts and Crafts tradition. There's a huge brick fireplace inside and, lit with candles, the interior is exceptionally beautiful and serene.

    Bar None

0.97 mi from Palace of Fine Arts
    9 reviews

Bar None was voted the best bar in the United States by Maxim Magazine. However, in my opinion it's nothing to be desired. It is reminiscent of frat/sorority parties in college: beirut/beer pong competitions, foosball, and chugging contests. The bathroom here is always disgusting and it smells like puke throughout the bar always. I don't recommend it, unless you're feeling ...

What do I say after being surrounded by original works of Lucas memorabilia day after day? Jaw dropping, awesome and will make any true Lucas worshipper cry. Is it too forward to ask to be buried here when I'm very old, "working" my R2 D2 tshirt?

    Chestnut Street Apple Store

0.58 mi from Palace of Fine Arts

Chestnut Street is a block away. Walk West and you will go past a park (childrens area), library, baseball fields, tennis courts-further down you will see many shops, restaurants, bars, a movie theater, Wells Fargo Bank and of course love the big Apple store. Blackwood and A16 restaurants on Chestnut highly recommended (noisy, lots of young people, good food).
