- Palacio SalvoFirst to ReviewJul 05, 2012
At the western end of Plaza Independencia, at 100 meters high, Palacio Salvo was once the tallest building in South America. Built in 1925 by the Italo-Argentine architect Mario Palanti (of Palacio Barolo, Buenos Aires, fame), it was designed to become a world-class hotel but that never materialized. Today it houses offices of big companies as well as residential apartments.
