A public government house built in the 1300s, the interior frescoes, in nearly every room, are gorgeous. Forest greens and siena brown, making the spaces warm, even livable especially compared to the cold pretentious Pitti Palace in Florence. The mostly secular images are more humanistic. The frescoes were commissioned by the government, rather than the church. The exterior is wonderful, but do go inside.Recommended for:
