Relaxation to recreation, you can do it all in Palm Desert, or sit back and do nothing at all. From five-star resorts to budget-friendly hotels, world-class golf to incredible art and architecture, Palm Desert is an oasis of excitement in the heart of Southern California’s famed Coachella Valley. However, it's definitely HOT (as deserts should be) during the Summer months. Make sure you have A/C and a pool available wherever you stay!

Really cool place. Once of the unique locales within California. Would recommend everyone get a chance to see if only for a day or two.

Palm Desert is a city in Riverside County, California, some 11 miles east of Palm Springs. BNP Paribas Open. The McCallum Theater and concert venue is the epicenter of the performing arts in Palm Desert, and has hosted performances by the likes of Johnny Cash, and televised events hosted by Oprah. Art-lovers should also check out the sculptures exhibit (which regularly changes) on El Paseo Drive. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is the only combined zoo and botanical garden in the United States that is devoted to deserts around the world, and is a fascinating place to learn about this surprisingly fragile ecosystem. Since Palm Desert is situated in the Coachella Valley, hiking and horseback riding through the surrounding canyons are popular year-round activities, and it’s also easy to experienced the unspoiled desert in national parks such as Joshua Tree.
