A very unique and fun attraction to experience in Palm Springs. The ride to the top is only half of the fun though, as there are plenty of hiking trails and things to do up top as well.

What an amazing getaway! Take the tram up for some of the best hiking around. Be prepared in the cooler months for snow! There are many hiking trails and snow play areas in the winter. A light jacket is always a good idea when going up in the elevation if you are not used to the cooler temperatures.

A must for first-time visitors, the tram ride offers exciting views of the mountain, desert, and eco systems over the 4000 foot climb. At the top, enjoy some easy hiking among the pines, and great food at the restaurant.

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is the World’s Largest Rotating Tramcar. The 10 min ride takes you up Chino Canyon. Starting at the Valley Station – elevation 2,643 ft. and end at the Mountain Station – elevation 8,516 ft. What an experience. Whether you are enjoying spectacular views or hiking in a pristine wilderness, it is a one-of-a-kind experience.

A fantastic experience with the tram rotating 360 degrees on your way to the top. Unbelievable view of the mountains, Salton Sea and all of the valley cities.

This tramway takes you on a dizzying trip from the desert floor up into the San Jacinto Mountains. In summer, you can hike into the cool pine forest and if you're ambitious, up to the top of Mt San Jacinto (elevation 10,384 feet). In winter, you can rent snowshoes and cross-country skis to follow the trails. Even if you don't do much at all at the top other than enjoying the scenery, it's worth making the trip!

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is a highlight of every vacation at the Deauville. Perfect to cool down in the daytime, dine in the restaurant, or hike at the top of Mt. St. Jacinto.

Experience the world's largest rotating aerial tramway for a truly breathtaking journey up the sheet cliffs of the nearby San Jacinto mountains. The views during this ride at the the top are truly spectacular! There is a lodge at the summit with a bar/pub, cafe and upscale restaurant with view, and shops. Adventurers can embark on incredible day (and overnight) hikes on the backside during the summer or fun in the snow during winter. We strongly recommend all of our guests to visit this memorable attraction to see the spectacular views and experience the climate change! Avoid crowds by arriving at opening hours, or late afternoon. Parking is free at the base, and there's a complimentary shuttle to the tram station.

Great views, fantastic hikes, and a great way to escape the heat for a day. Take the trip up during the day and wait until dark to come back down; you'll get to see the beautiful lights of the entire desert along with the desert stars.

A fun way to freak yourself out on the way up! Great views. Apparently there is also a nice fine dining restaurant at the top, we haven't tried it as yet.

Definitely worth doing, but be prepared for weather 30 degrees cooler at the top! I don't really recommend eating at either the buffet restaurant of the fancier place at the top. You can do much, much better at one of my other recommendations on this Insider Guide.
