    Great place for families. Tons of pools, tennis, ping pong, etc. Be aware that it is 20 miles outside of Palm Springs, so if what you really want is to be in Palm Springs, this is not the place

    Not far from the hubbub of Palm Springs is this desert oasis -- literally. There is absolutely gorgeous hiking through rich desert botanical scenery -- palm trees, dozens of different types of cactus, desert birds, wildflowers in the spring, etc. I came here in February one year and it was 80 degrees, perfect for hiking.
