Panama City Beach is a wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway. The city is known as a "spring break" destination, popular amongst partying college students. One of the largest nightclubs in the United States, Club La Vela, is even located in Panama City Beach. Don't be fooled, however, nightclubs, crowds and parties, are only one small part of what Panama City Beach has to offer. In the off-season, after the spring breakers have gone back to their respective universities, the quiet beach town offers travelers peace, beautiful beaches, excellent customer service, delicious seafood meals, and quiet lazy days on the beach.

My first spring break. I must try to find photos. It involved a bunch of 15 year olds.....lots of illegally procured alcohol...and you can guess the rest. In fact, the beaches here are wide, soft sand. The hotels are all moderately priced. Some call it the "redneck riviera" some call it paradise. I guess it all depends on where you are from :)
