The Panama Marriott was one of the nicest Marriotts I have ever stayed at, it was absolutely incredible. Normally when I am traveling, I try to stay at more budget hotels, but I treated myself to a nice stay at the Marriott after a two week trek in Central America. I stayed for two nights and the staff at the hotel was some of the best staff I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. All of the employees of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, and made my stay extremely enjoyable The hotel is located in the business district of Panama and about a ten minute stroll to Calle Urugary, where a lot of the bars and discos of Panama are. Really enjoyed my stay at the Panama Marriott and will look to stay here again in the future.

The reception staff seemed a little uptight and rule-oriented, so it was a delight when a warm and knowledgeable porter offered to help us out. The lobby is elegant, with curved staircases arching up to a mezzanine. The rooms are roomy and clean and appropriately luxurious for the price you pay. If you you get an Executive Room you get free access to WiFi and to a cool lounge on the 14th floor where you can get your work done while watching the sun move across the Panama City skyline. If you have a standard room, though, you have to pay $15 a day for internet, which I think is lame at the price you're paying to stay here. The gym is huge and nice, and there's a helpful trainer there ready to get you set up. The pool is out of service because of construction, and apparently won't be open till next year.

probably the best all around chain hotel in town. good location, service and rooms
only drawback is the food at champions sports bar. instead check out the excellent middle eastern food place across the street, or the costa azul 24 hr diner a block away!

The Marriott has the advantage of global brand recognition and they fully lived up to their standard on a recent trip. If security is your thing the Panama Marriott is probably your cup of tea. Through some special arrangement not only do they have a first rate security staff but they also have a national policeman posted out front. Polished marble greets you in the lobby as well as an extraordinarily professional staff. We chatted with a staff member who told us he had a university degree in Tourism. The gym was first rate but unfortunately the building is undergoing major renovation which is keeping the pool closed for the foreseeable future. Marriott has arranged for another hotel's pool to be accessible to guests along with transportation. There are two restaurants on-site including Champions Sports Bar. Standard room is $225 plus tax and does not included wifi.
