The remains of the catholic mission are very impressive. The size of the structures and what the mission must have looked like before the priests were kicked out of Paraguay, Bolivia, and Argentina is hard to imagine. It is definitely a must see, especially for those who are interested in colonial history

At the time it was built it was the World's largest hydroelectric dam. It is in Ciudad del Este, which is an easy day trip from Iguazu. You can take a free tour of the facilities, which is pretty interesting. It isn't the most exciting place, but if you are already visiting Iguazu Falls this isn't a bad day trip.
