Live in the lush lap of luxury when staying at the Paramount. Though the rooms may be small, they are pristinely clean and the overly chic lobby and mezzanine areas totally make up for any lack of space for anyone who is not insistent on constant privacy. A variety of seating options on the first and second levels allows for plenty of space to relax or work, and private rooms are also available. A DJ spins music from the mezzanine some evenings, making the lobby spirit more lively and hyped for a night out on the town. Eat at the adjoining Paramount restaurant, grab a morning coffee at Corso coffee shop, or take a local shopping trip to the gift shop or boutique located inside of the hotel. Somewhat of a resort in itself, New Yorkers and tourists alike visit the Paramount for an escape from everyday mundanity and a trip into the extravagant interior design and hip feel inside the Paramount.

If you're looking for a bit of luxury, I think Paramount is a great place to stay. They have many amenities that many guests would enjoy including a big lobby area with couches and comfortable common seating areas as well as a coffee shop and bar & grill. There's a cool feature in the hallways on the way to the rooms. Once you get off the elevator you see a large mirror and there are some words illuminated on the mirror indicating the type of weather it is that day. For example, Sun, Warm. This is great if so you can dress appropriately before you step outside and realize it's sunny but cold because of a breeze. The rooms themselves are modern and clean. with a few splashes of color here and there.

Great location, right by Times Square and only $130 for the night. The lobby looks like an upscale club, but most of the amenities, including the cafe and store, were under renovation when we were there. Room was tiny and VERY no-frills (not even a box of kleenex in sight!), but perfectly serviceable. My only ding on the room is that the walls are a tad thin, and it smelled very smoky for a non-smoking room.

The only saving grace this place has is the decent bar because it's actually quite ridiculously close to Time Square so many visitors and loungers just sit around and crowd up the lobby and the bar and often don't buy a drink or enough drinks to sustain for the amount of time they are taking up the seat.
The rooms are definitely on the cramped side, but then again I've experienced worse in New York. I was just generally really surprised by the Paramount because I expected it to be ... classier? swankier? I don't know if I can quite put my finger on the word but it was a disappointing experience nonetheless.
