Hidden gem in Paris. A gorgeous sweeping park built up around hills that used to be a limestone quarry. Great jogging paths, a waterfall in a cave, and great sweeping views of the city.
Take the 7bis Metro to the Buttes Chaumont stop and you'll be right at the gates.Recommended for:Outdoor Enthusiasts

Often overlooked because of its location in the 19th arrondissement, le Parc des Buttes Chaumont is a wild and lush garden that is unlike any other in Paris. This gem comes complete with tall trees, wooden bridges over lakes and footpaths that wind up through the grassy hills taking you high above the city. From a stone gazebo you can enjoy the most beautiful views of Sacré-Coeur and stare across a horizon of Parisian rooftops. There is plenty of room in this garden to find a sunny spot on the grass amongst the flowers and have a picnic.

If you've had your fill of museums and monuments, and are looking for a bit of greenery in the city, the Buttes-Chaumont Parc should be your first stop, as it is probably the greenest spot within city limits.
Indeed, most parks in Paris are decorated in the Neoclassical style, which is partial to green patches dispersed with gravely paths, which is nice and all, but not exactly what you had in mind when you thought of a "park". The Buttes-Chaumont is the perfect place for nature strolls, while still offering beautiful views of the city.
