Paris has inspired countless artists and writers with its cobblestoned streets, refined and decadent cuisine, creative chaos and grandeur. (the original) Paris may no longer be the bohemian hideout of Gertrude Stein and Picasso, but it has maintained a glamour and sophistication unmatched by most other world capitals. Looking for a hotel in Paris? Luxury isn't hard to find, but neither is reasonably priced chic, or even budget beauty, if you know where to look. Here's our take on the best hotels and neighborhoods to lay your head in the City of Lights.

Paris Luxury Hotels

Out of control amenities and luxury are the words of the day at chic Paris Luxury hotels like Costes K and Hotel Sezz. The former, situated on the Rue Saint Honore with its opulent shops and restaurants, is one of Paris' hippest meet up spots and is known for its cocktail bar and restaurant in addition to rooms. The latter is located close to major attractions like the Eiffel Tower, and is heavy on Japanese-inspired design with a splash of excellent service. Prefer your luxury from an international brand? The Park Hyatt Paris Vendome is filled with art, sports an in-house spa, and is steps from the Place Vendome, one of Paris' chic-est squares. Or if only the Ritz will do, the city has you covered with the Parisian iteration of this grande dame of luxury. Paris Mid-Range Hotels

One of our favorites is the Hidden Hotel, super modern and minimalist, and just a five minute walk to the Champs Elysees. Design snobs should look at Hotel Le A Paris, in the 8th Arondissement, which is rumored to have an excellent breakfast in addition to its snappy decor. Don't forget Hotel Design de la Sorbonne, neon and lime green adorned, which will provide you an iMac to play on and is located in the Latin Quarter, near the famed university of its name. Looking for a dependable chain? The Mercure chain is mid-range and has a few Paris locations, as does the international Ibis. Paris Hotel Neighborhoods

The residential 16th Arrondissement is home to attractions like the Eiffel Tower and the Place du Trocadero. The Hotel les Hauts de Passy is an independent boutique hotel which is incredibly affordable. Walking distance to the Seine and Notre Dame is the Hotel Cluny Square, which is located right outside the St Michel Metro as well, with direct access to Charles de Gaulle Airport. The famous Pantheon is a major attraction in Paris and the Hotel des Grandes Hommes (hotel of great men) is an absolutely decadent yet tasteful choice located smack-bang on the square. The Luxembourg Gardens are also close by, perfect for a leisurely stroll with your traveling companions.

    Hotel les Hauts de Passy

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    5 reviews
Fair - 74% of guests recommend

This hotel is found in a cute little red brick pedestrian street (that reminds me of Rue Cler) complete with a bakery, a fromagerie, a florist, several cafés and much more! Inside the décor is modern and minimalist with a seating/TV area facing a courtyard and full of grey armchairs and sofas surrounding a black glass coffee table. Downstairs there ...

The Hotel Design de la Sorbonne lives up to its name with its ultra-modern aesthetic and detail-oriented design. The place feels very young and fun: it is two doors down from the Sorbonne University and each room is brightly decorated and comes with an i-Mac. I did find the rooms slightly dark and small, but for the excellent prices the ...

The Hotel Napoleon was just recently awarded its 5th star and it is really clear by the stellar service offered that they are determined to keep it. The quite sizeable building is located right off the Champs Elysees and offers a gym and some rooms with absolutely stunning views of the Arc de Triomphe. One negative aspect is that the ...

the Prince de Galles Hotel is an older, more traditional charmer of a French hotel that has one of the best locations...on George V, around the corner from the Champs-Elysee...or the Louis Vuitton flagship store. The best part aside from the "hardware" stuff about the hotel...is the turn down chocolate brought to us by Jean Paul Hevin. Sweet dreams indeed.

I LOVED this place. Each of their rooms has a different theme, so each time you go, you can switch things up a bit. The people are super nice and inviting. As far as the quality/price ratio goes in Paris, it would be hard to beat the Grand Hotel des Balcons. The place is clean and quite visually appealing for a two-star establishment, with elegant woodwork in the lobby and the occasional stained-glass window in the staircase. The elevator is on the rickety side and the breakfast is extra, but the ...

    Hotel Lutetia Paris

The Hotel Lutetia is an odd combination of things. Located just off the Rue Cherche-Midi, on Boulevard Raspail, the Lutetia has a wonderful restaurant and a mediocre brasserie, the decor is dated and stuffy and there are bizarre dust bags covering the chandeliers throughout the lobby and bar area. The first time I noticed the chandelier bags, I thought the ...

Maybe the best deal in Paris for vacationing families. Tucked away down a side street near the Pantheon, the staff here are considered very family friendly. Breakfasts aren’t its strong point but with so many bakeries and cafes just outside the door this shouldn’t concern families too much. Enquire about their triple rooms if traveling with a large group.

Top notch location-right next to Place St. Michel. The deco is modern; service is very Americanized. If you are not super fix-gazed on old Parisian style, and expect above-average hotel services, this could be a comfy lodging choice.
