    La Palette

This is my favourite cafe in Paris because it is old, simple, full of cool & arty people around & it is always lively. This is a perfect place to have a glass of champagne & watch the charming people of Paris running around.

    Maison Georges Larnicol

Yummy chocolate and macaroon shop in the middle of a busy shopping area! I stopped by to try their macaroons because this looks so delicious through the windows! They were only1 euro each and tasty!

This is a parisian experience... the place is old, nothing special, very good food, not expensive, very old waiters who love to argue :) As I said it is an experience...

    Chez L'Ami Jean

My mother will kill me for sharing this. But this is one of the last, truly authentic restaurants in Paris. Absolutely killer food, at reasonable prices, and NO tourists.

    Breizh Cafe

    9 reviews

This is a very original small cafe in the heart of Marais. They serve galettes (savoury crepes) from Brittany region mainly. They also have a very broad menu for sweet crepes as well. Food is superb and original. Sometimes they would also have oysters (Brittany style) If you are lucky, you can taste them before or after a huge galette...

    Bofinger

Good Alsatian food. Large portions, tasty charcuterie, good service. Also a nice selection of beers that pair well with the food.

    Chez Gladines

    8 reviews

Though Chez Gladines serves basque food, I've rarely been to a place so reminiscent of traditional french conviviality. This no frills restaurant is loud, busy, cheap, young, and cheery; with checkered table cloths, (thankfully) never-ending portions, and free-flowing wine. Come hungry and early, especially if your party is bigger than two people.

    404 (Le)

    7 reviews

Had American Thanksgiving here, and it couldn't have been any further from what was going on at home in NYC (in the best way)! :) Moroccan, tagine, shared tables, loud music, great ambiance, belly dancers...the food is decent to good, service is ok to less than ok, but you go here for the fun and the place is gorgeous.

    Mariage Frères

    8 reviews

I love the Mariages Freres packaging and even the tea bags are pretty, but the real reason to love this brand is the incredibly high quality of their teas and the thoughtfully designed teapots.

    Refuge des Fondues

    6 reviews

Super fun and funky, no frills fondue in Montemarte. Ressies highly recommended. Short skirts not recommended, unless you like showing your bizness.

    Brasserie Lipp

    6 reviews

You should spend one night there for a very classic French brasserie experience. Good traditional food, posh waiters getting on your nerves, but still you enjoy it, because the food is good & it is an original experience.

    Au Grain de Folie

    5 reviews

A small hole in the wall with only 5 tables. At first I was a little worried we had made a wrong choice in going out of the way to get here. However the food was excellent. The soup made to order was one of the best I have had and the entrees were also very good and very healthy. ...

    Le Fumoir

    5 reviews

Le Fumoir opposite the Louvre in it’s classical style is my favourite place for after work cocktails, particularly in the winter when when the wood lined walls make the large room feel cosy. There have a 6€ happy hour menu before 8pm but get there early as tables are always in demand. The food is excellent, if a little pricey. ...

    Chez Marianne

    5 reviews

Can't say enough about the Chez Marianne lunch. See all those people lining up over there at L'As? Dummies. Walk another half block to Marianne's, sit yourself down with little to no waiting, and order the plate of 4, 5, or 6, or even better, share with someone and order the plate of 10 different Mediterranean spreads/dips/goodness. You have never ...

    Le Relais Gascon

This place has the best salads I've ever had. They're huge and absolutely delicious. The staff is wonderful, and it's in a great part of the city. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in/around the Montmartre area of Paris.

    Du Pain et Des Idées

    5 reviews

Du Pain et Des Idees is located in the 10th Arrondisement. It's a little out of the way, but is worth a trip to try what is viewed as one of the best bakeries in Paris (It was rated #1 in 2012 in a bakery contest in Paris and was featured in The Layover). The bakery only specializes in bread. ...

    Candelaria

    6 reviews

Awesome, hidden speakeasy bar. Not open terribly late (definitely closes before 2am most nights), but worth the visit. The front is a junky looking taco place, but walk through to the door in the back and into a cozy hideaway with good cocktail service. There is usually someone at the door, but not always, so it can look very unassuming.
