The Park Hyatt has lots of design touches packed into its intimate setting. In addition to its sophisticated interior design, there is also fine art throughout the lobby and the chairs in the rooms are designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.Recommended for:

Great property all around. I'd add this to the Trump as my other favorite hotel in Chicago. Exceptional design, comfortable rooms, and excellent F&B. What really stood out for me is the service level. The staff are warm and attentive and it feels like they really care about guests in a very unpretentious and genuine way. This is a true 5 star.
- bar and restaurant: stylish, good quality, hip without seeming temporarily so
- location on Michigan avenue just across from Water Tower
- free internet
- 24 hour free business center
Definitely better than the more tired Ritz and Four Seasons. Design and staff are a little warmer than at the Trump but you can't go wrong with either property. Pen is also a good option in Chicago but I find it a bit sterile and prefer the modern design of the Park Hyatt and Trump over the Colonial look of the Pen.Recommended for:

I recently stayed at the Park Hyatt Chicago and had an excellent stay. This is definitely one of the best hotels in Chicago. My friends and I traveled to Chicago mainly to dine. We were lucky enough to score a table at Next: El Bulli. This was a once in a lifetime experience. The Park Hyatt made our stay even more memorable.
Upon arrival the Bell Staff was very attentive while helping us unload our luggage, even offering to carry them up for us.
At check-in the lady was very kind. Even asking what we were doing in town. When I mentioned that we had reservations at Next she quickly offered up the courtesy car.
At dinner time, we headed downstairs where we were surprised to see a 7 series BMW along with a chauffeur. This was extremely exciting! What better way to show up at next than in a chauffeured car!
One day we had come downstairs with some postcards ready to mail and as soon as we got off the elevator someone noticed and offered to send them out for us.
Throughout our stay the staff was amazing. Everyone: the front desk, bell staff, gym/spa staff, and cleaning service was excellent! Top notch service.
The Rooms were amazing! The hotel is wonderfully located on the corner of Michigan and Chicago, providing excellent views of the Lake and Michigan Ave.
The rooms were extremely clean. Equipped with large LCD TV, bath tub (with bath salts), shower, smaller TV in restroom, double sinks, show shine machine, toothpaste, toothbrushes, slippers, free wireless interenet, etc. They honestly provide everything you could possible need. A daily paper of your choice (NY Times, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal) is also provided. Amazing accommodations.
I was also able to check out their gym to burn off some of the calories I consumed while eating away in Chicago. The workout facility is also very nice. Equipped with many weight machines, free weights, and cardio machines (w/ personal tv screen on each). They also have an indoor pool! Towel, water, and headphones are also provided for free.
Excellent hotel! If i ever return to Chicago the Park Hyatt is at the top of my list of places to stay!

As with all their properties, this is a luxe hotel with top notch service and gorgeous modern amenities. Located across from the Water Tower and John Hancock Center, so ask for a room facing east. You'll also be able to get a view of the lake.
Enjoy a meal or drinks at their restaurant NoMi, which is on the 7th floor and serves delicious sushi and New American fare.

In all my Chicago hotel stays, this is the first room I’d ever seen where I could sit in the bathtub and see Lake Michigan. There was a sliding panel between the bathroom and the rest of the room to facilitate that amazing view, or, I suppose, a conversation with a traveling companion. There were three great lounging views, actually – the bathtub, the super comfy bed and a great cushioned window seat dolled up with throw pillows. Before Ieave the bathtub entirely – always one of my favorite places in a hotel! -- it was one of those deep Jacuzzi tubs and there were perfumed bath salts within reach. Normally I just dump all the shower gel in there to make bubble bath, so I appreciated the touch. Also, there were candles! I did not try the restaurant NoMI, which has a great rep, or the bar and outdoor terrace, but I walked through them on the way to the gym/spa area and was impressed with all the wood and light. I’m glad I took a bag this time rather than just heading down in my gym clothes, as I often do in hotels. It would have been an embarrassment to trudge past all the posh diners that way. The service here is warmly professional. WiFi is included, as it should be.

What makes The Park Hyatt one of best hotels in Chicago is the hotels location. It is within walking distance to the best shopping, great local restaurants, and vibrant nightlife. The King suites are elegant. It was hard to believe how spacious the room was. The bathrooms really stand out here. They are very large, and the shiny marble looks and feels great. The steam shower is fantastic, and the tub is large enough for two. There is a vanity desk so you are not tripping over each other in there while getting ready to hit the streets. This hotel is wonderful and makes staying in Chicago that much more fun!
