This luxury hotel is located in a glass skyscraper in the financial district of Gangnam, so it's a great choice for business travelers, though it is quite a drive to get to the designer/shopping area of Gangnam and the historical sights in the city. At least taxis in Seoul are cheap, and there's a subway station right outside the lobby, so getting around is easy.

Rooms are beautiful with blond wood fixtures and furniture, king or double beds, floor to ceiling windows and gorgeous bathrooms with rough-stone features, double vanities and glassed-in shower/bath suites that you just want to spend all day in. Loved the Aesop toiletries as well. Again, the mattresses here were really hard, but you can request a pillow-top for more comfort.

The staff were also extremely attentive and all the service was great. I didn't spend too much time eating at the hotel but there is a lobby lounge restaurant (up on the 24th floor), the Timber House restaurant on the 2nd floor and then a chi-chi bar in the basement. There is also a beautiful two-story gym on the 23rd and 24th floor.

The hotel layout was a bit of a pet peeve since you have to take an elevator up to the 24th floor lobby then catch one from another bank of elevators down to the rooms on the floors below - one time it took 10 minutes just to get out of the hotel!

Still, one of the cooler hotels I've stayed in lately and I'd recommend it for visitors to Seoul if the $300-$400 price range is within your budget.

There's little to distinguish Hyatt's top end Park properties apart other than the view out of those wonderful large floor to ceiling windows in the rooms and suites. What they all have in common is a zen-like sense of serenity, which makes them a perfect spot to rest your head for the night after a hectic day of meetings. Rooms are spacious and tastefully furnished and for those who like a wallow in the bath with a view of the city lights, it's hard to beat. Well located for the nearby COEX mall and whirs with understated efficiency. I couldn't find any evidence of the free airport shuttle referred to in an earlier review, but there is a free shuttle connecting the hotel and the nearby CALT city terminal in the Korea World Trade Centre, where you'll be picked up / dropped off by the airport limousine bus.

If you want to feel whisked away in the middle of the bustling city, the Park Hyatt in gangnam-gu is the place to be. Located near the mega shopping and entertainment complex of COEX (complete with a pretty rad aquarium worth a visit!) you will be hard pressed to find anything to fault with a stay here.
The decor is slick, modern and fresh- think mountain lodge with an updated, Asian twist, with natural wood and variations of smooth and rough-cut stone work filling the lobby and rooms. Even the journey to the top floor of the hotel feels like your climbing higher and higher away from the stress of the city below.
What I enjoyed the most about the aesthetic of this particular Hyatt (and let's face it, the name goes a long way in terms of luxury) was the ample and smart use of natural light. Everything feels airy and exposed- in a warm and inviting way- even the pool, which is flanked by windows.
Style, serenity and kind service await- though there's definitely more of a business/couple vibe than that of a family oriented place.

This is my first choice hotel for staying below the Han River. It’s spitting distance from COEX (a massive mall with a great movie theater) and Samseong Station (exit 1), plus it’s a five-minute cab ride to Gangnam. I didn’t expect much from the hotel at first, being that the lobby and reception area are actually located on the top floor of the building; the ground floor consists only of a small entryway and two elevators. A staff greeter shows you up to the top lobby floor. When the elevator doors open, you’re transported to a modern and elegant space flooded with natural light. The décor is all in shades of white and cream, with lavender orchids, smooth slate stones and blonde natural woods. The guest rooms mimic the same theme. Everything is round, smooth and natural, but in a modern way. Think Swedish, but way more elegant than Ikea. The standard guest rooms are a little bit on the small side, but the huge windows allow so much sunlight to enter that you barely notice. There are also huge windows alongside the indoor pool, which make for a cool view while swimming. It’s calm and peaceful: perfect for a business traveler or a tourist craving quiet after a long day out and about.

The hotel is excellent as is the staff. I love their rooms and showers. Downside is that it's purposely made for business professionals that want peace from the bustle of Seoul. So there are only two restaurants (simple and clean), no large lobby area, no karaoke, a quaint lounge, and no real scene. We're a boring married couple now, but a little energy is good.

I stayed here for a business trip and found it to be a very nice hotel. The hotel is very modern and immaculately clean. The bathrooms are spacious and done with some cool stonework. It is located right near the giant COEX mall - which was good for grabbing some last minute gifts before heading home. They charge for wi fi, but do offer free wi-fi in the lobby, which was great. The staff was helpful. There is also a free shuttle to pick you up from the airport.
