I was absolutely blown away by the location of this hotel, holding prime real estate on Dawes Point in the Sydney Harbour, with each room (all have private balconies) looking out over the water and to the Opera House directly opposite. Full of tasteful design touches like aboriginal art paintings and grainy B&W photo blowups of the Harbour Bridge, the rooms have been recently revamped after an extended closure, and it shows. The atmosphere reflects the Park Hyatt's status as the creme-de-la-creme of Sydney, with super-crisp service and absolutely lovely lounge and restaurant areas. If money is no object, and you want to be close to the action in inner Sydney, this hotel is a top choice.Recommended for:

The Park Hyatt Sydney has a fantastic location, next the The Rocks shopping area, across the cove from the iconic Sydney Opera House, and close to the Royal Botanical Gardens.
The amenities and appointments are what you might expect from a higher end Park Hyatt Hotel, although the rooms are not spacious, the prime real estate limiting expansiveness in this choice location. But service is what you might expect from a top end hotel, and the location is spectacular.

There are a handful of exceptional things about the Park Hyatt Sydney, two of which are the coveted location and the spectacular views. This property is located in 'The Rocks' under the Harbor Bridge, and is centered around views of the Harbor and the Opera House. Each of the guest rooms, as well as the main lobby and dining areas, offer priceless opportunities to observe one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
After nearly a year of renovations, the hotel reopened in early 2012 with a contemporary luxury style. Each of the 155 guest rooms feature floor to ceiling windows, private balconies and a restful place to rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing or business meetings. Suites and deluxe rooms are also available. Guests are able to take advantage of on-site amenities such as the spa, the rooftop pool or the downstairs bar.
Of course the hotel prides themselves on impeccable service. They offer 24-hour butlers for all hotel guests and easy access to concierges. But one of my favorite features is the commissioned artwork from Australian artists that peppers the hotel. I think this provides a very personalized feel, and a local cultural accent to this large luxury property. While some may think the room rates are overpriced (starting at $820), you are guaranteed to have a luxurious stay you won’t soon forget.Recommended for:

This hotel is almost as iconic as its next door neighbours – the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House. In other words, no other hotel enjoys the same harbourside location. Male of the species read here: this is where to bring your loved one if you want her to say ‘yes’, or, if you really need to get back in her good books. With clean lines, elegant décor and sandstone interior, this place oozes sophistication without even trying. There’s a 24-hour gym, rooftop pool and day spa. If you’re a technology geek like me, you’ll appreciate that every room has wi-fi (charged), a media hub and iPod docking station. All rooms in the newly refurbished Park Hyatt (completed early 2012) also proudly exhibit Aboriginal art and come with private balconies, bathrobes, and, more importantly, open plan living. A well-designed space and sliding door later and you’re showering while watching the world and harbour go by at the same time. When it comes to a ‘loo with a view’ this is a fine place to rest your bottom half.

Another all time favorite (and Honeymoon stay). We had a view of the Sydney Opera House (a great view often makes the hotel for me). The service was outstanding (they even arranged to have our rental car returned for us), and I would happily return.
