Staying above Park Ave. is being the sprinkles on a cupcake. Nothing comes close to the delicious sophistication of the Park Plaza Hotel. It was built in 1922, and the opulence of the decade has endured in every old brick wall and fresh down comforter. The balconies are enclosed in lush greenery for privacy, so you can glide outside in your signature bathrobe and just watch the city breathe.

Quaint boutique property on Park Avenue. It definitely has character. Only downside is the sound from the train tracks behind the property. Not a good choice for light sleepers -- opt for a street facing room. Restaurant here is also good.
