Though less well known that the coronation square next-door in Kathmandu (the two cities are essentially contiguous, and very close), this World Heritage site is nonetheless just as impressive as its neighbor, if not moreso. All the same hallmarks are there -- beautiful constructions in wood and brick, exceptional carving, cool temples and shrines -- though the Newari craftsmanship here, and some erotic carvings truly stand out. A must-visit in the Kathmandu Valley.Recommended for:
