Amazing feat of engineering with very efficient queues. Historical gallery is well designed. This is the best way to see the Peak and the wait is not too bad.

Unless you come in right when it opens or right before it closes, it's likely you'll have to stand in a long queue before you enter the Peak Tram. Despite the long wait and somewhat pricey admission ($40HKD), it's worth it. The steep tram ride from the bottom to Victoria Peak is neat.

The views are great.. but get off your butt and hike to the top. The tram is great if you are in a wheel chair, pressed for time, or Tammy from Iowa... but the peak deserves a more leisurely hike-like pace so seek it out. The tram is great but...

The queue to board the tram can be long and it feels like a tourist trap, but if it's a right of passage for first-time visitors. Try to stake out a spot on the right side of the tram when ascending to get the view on your way up. It gets pretty steep, so keep your belongings fastened to you and hold tight if you are standing!

Want to know al about the history of the Peak tram? Then this is the place to be. To bad that most of the people come here for a tram ride to the Peak wich makes reading about the history harder. But if you realy want to, go for it! After reading take the tram to the Peak and enjoy the great view!

The tram is cute, but the reward is the stunning views when you get to the top. A must for anyone visiting HK.

Of the peak-type trams I've experieced throughout the world, this is the best. The grade at times is so steep that money rolls out of your pants' pockets. Beware! Be sure to visit in both the day and early evening. The view is considerably different.

No visit to Hong Kong is complete without a ride on the Peak Tram. I loved riding these trams when I was a child living in Hong Kong. Way back then it was really exciting (and amazing) to climb steadily up the Peak, hearing the tram click onto the rails as it went. In those days, the Peak just had some gardens, a revolving Peak Tower restaurant and a fantastic view over Hong Kong harbour. My most recent visit totally amazed me. It was still as exciting and amazing to think that this old tram was still climbing the Peak! What I wasn't prepared for was the changes that had been made at the top - a fantastic complex of shops, restaurants etc had been built. The revolving restaurant was still there, as was the fantastic view over the harbour, though this had changed considerably too! If you're going all the way to Hong Kong, you have to go on the Peak Tram.

You don't need the tram to get to Victoria peak, but it makes the experience that much better. Head up during the afternoon and wait for the sun to go down for a major light show - try to go on a clear day.

It's old and it's slow, but a trip to THE PEAK won't be complete without riding these old trams up the hill. Not recommended for those that have limited time.

Things that you may not know: (1) The crowds taking the Peak Tram up the Peak should be avoided, at peak (!) times and holidays: instead take the Bus up. Its cheaper in terms of time, and gives great views of the south side of Hong Kong, then you can come down on the Tram, and there's very few crowds coming down. (2) If you're fit, a 20 - 30 minute walk up Mount Austen Road to the Peak itself gives spectacular views, no crowds at all, and empty beautiful public parks. (3) If you're less fit, a level stroll around Lugard Road from just outside the Tram building, goes all the way round the Peak, all the views, on a level road, and takes about 45 - 60 minutes, depending on you.

If its your first time then you have to take this all the way up to the top. Who cares if its old... Who cares if it takes forever... You'll stop caring once you get to the top. And you really didnt like it going up, you'll at least enjoy taking the bus going down...

Go at night, the bus going down is almost like a roller coaster!

If going to The Peal for the first time, you must catch The Peak Tram. Great views and a great ride.

Decided no to wait in line a second time and walk down instead. Probably got there sooner but there is no signage after about half way so you will have to navigate the curving, sometimes sidewalk-less roads.

If there is any place to hate in HK its the tram. When you have so much first world transportation around you it sometimes hard appreciating anything less as fast and efficient; plus the lines are ridiculous.

Ok so if you're deadset on trying out this historic ride up the peak, first of all make sure you don't have any neck or upper back issues because it can get a little uncomfortable (VERY steep incline), and second of all, make sure you pick up an Octopus Card so you can bypass the huge line to by tickets. And trust me, the queues for this are always long!
