This is a little town with a big reputation in the surf community. With full-time residents numbering in the hundreds, Peniche has made a name for itself on the international surfing circuit for the (sometimes tragically) great waves at Supertubos beach. On the less extreme side, Peniche is also increasingly becoming a popular vacation spot for Brits looking for something ...

Atouguia da Baleia used to be a whaling harbour-"baleia" means whale in portuguese. In spite of its relatively small size, it has an interesting architectural and artistic patrimony and is well worth a visit

The town of Óbidos is located on a hilltop, encircled by a fortified wall. It is known as the "Wedding Present Town" because it was a gift King Dinis gave to Queen Isabel on their wedding day in 1282. Appropriately, Gayle and I spend part of our Honeymoon here. Obidos is an extraordinarily romantic and picturesque place. This includes cobblestone ...

I was struck on my first day in Lisbon by how much it felt like home. The people are friendly, the food is unique and delicious, and there is plenty to see. You see, I was sitting by the gate to the city, looking out over the water, for close to 3 hours before I recognized what is essentially the ...

A short train ride along the shore from Lisbon's Cais do Sodré station leads to Cascais, a formerly quaint fishing village that became (along with neighboring Estoril) a popular resort favored by European nobility and kings in the early 20th century. Today it is a colorful cosmopolitan town with elegant pedestrian streets, luxuriant villas, fashionable shops, restaurants and bars. Gayle ...

i thought u may like this beach. Oeiras is the nearest beach area to Lisbon. Completely neglected by tourists, a fantastic place to explore, wonderful beaches, historic buildings, delightful semi-tropical parks and great restaurants. i hope this helps.

I planed to visit Nazare, but got off at the wrong stop Alcobaça accidently. I understood just now the beautiful mistake made me unexpectedly meet one of the UNESCO World Heritages, Alcobaça Monastery (Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaça). http://www.sacred-destinations.com/portugal/alcobaca-monastery 這天下午我決定去小漁村Nazare。

Almada is across the river from central Lisbon, easily accessible from the Cais do Sodré ferry terminal. Once you've crossed the river and land in Cacilhas, take a local bus up Cristo Rei. It ought to be a major tourist destination for the Lisbon area but, for some reason, the city does very little to advertise it and, as a ...

During our last night in Portugal, we stayed at the Pousada that is part of the Queluz Palace. It was a rainy day, but we were happy to kick back and just walk the grounds a bit. There's also a "kick ass" restaurant across the street. The Queluz Palace itself is an 18th century-royal residence which is one of the ...
