This is an exceptional property. Rooms are of a generous size and service is exceptional. The attention to detail at the property is in line with Asian standards -- i.e., excellent. Great to see that the Peninsula has done a good job of bringing their Hong Kong culture to New York.Recommended for:

Imposing building, imposing hotel, imposing interiors...but really just all a façade...the description that should be used is: impressive. The service at the Pen NY is warm, professional and sincere. Everything appears so traditional and proper here: from the formal stair case to the up right posture of almost every staff encountered here. We were impressed with the service first attitude. The concierge was lovely and he really knows his city and makes every attempt to help us find the most obscure. The restaurant we enjoyed. We loved the old world wealthy ambiance in a new world of wealth in knowledge, professionalism, and service in a deeply traditional hotel brand in a very modern city.

Excellence defined, the Peninsula is a dependably fantastic hotel located in a great and classic spot on 5th avenue, only a stones-throw away from Tiffany & Co, Gucci, Henri Bendel and lots of the other great stalwarts of luxury. The phenomenal Peninsula Spa provides reason enough alone to love this hotel and the constantly high level of comfort, combined with stellar service, make the Peninsula a hard one to beat. This is one of the very best luxury hotels in New York City and although the prices do reflect that, there are also often deals to be found. Dog-friendly, the Peninsula will have a bed and a welcome-kit waiting for your pooch, along with dishes, treats and food.Recommended for:

I was drawn here by the offerings of the roof top bar and perhaps because I was already somewhat inebriated by the time I got here, this was just a wonderful place to be.
The bar is classy but cold even on a summer night, and there were lots of attractive older folks around, although it was sort of an odd lighting so I wasn't really up for staring much at everyone. The lobby was clean, but we quickly went past it for the bar. The hotel seems nice and the view was awesome. I can imagine if you stay here on their two free cocktails deal that it would be somewhat worthwhile considering our bill came out to be rather hefty. Then again it's not like I could particularly remember how many drinks we got.

I remember really liking their weekend buffet brunch. Ok, so it's super expensive, but they freshly make a ton of stuff, like eggs benedict (my favorite). It also feels super high end like breakfast at Tiffany's (yes I dressed up).
The rooftop bar is also great. Nice view, strong drinks, fun company.
