    Pat's King of Steaks

    4
    34 reviews

Cheese Steak challenge. Who's going to win? Pat or Geno? After touring historic Philadelphia, it was time to settle the cheese steak question. Which one would I like better. At the corner of Passyunk & 9th Street you will find the two iconic cheese steak place in Philadelphia. They are literally across from each other. That gave us the chance ...

    Reading Terminal Market

Love this place. They have food for anyone. A great place to go if your not sure what you want to eat. You can walk around and sample different cuisines. The fresh oysters are amazing and a great price. Also at the Cajun place the gumbo is excellent. My husband and I go and get a smorgasbord of different things. ...

Cheese Steak challenge. Who's going to win? Geno or Pat? My coworker & I each bought a sandwich from each place. Armed with 1/2 a sandwich from the iconic cheese steak shop, it was time to decide the winner The cheese steak at Geno's was very good. It had a more tender steak & bigger sliced meat. I ordered it ...

    Jim's Steaks

    4
    21 reviews

Pat's and Geno's are more highly publicized in part due to their rivalry and location across the street from each other. But if you ask me, for the best cheese steak in Philly you have to go to Jim's. I don't think I've ever seen Jim's without a line out the door. I order a "whiz with", that is with ...

    John's Roast Pork

    3 reviews

Great spot for a Philly Cheese Steak! It also seems to get more of a local crowd rather than many tourists, which seemed strange because there are so many plaques and awards on the wall. Cash only!

    Oyster House

    4.5

Best deal for oysters in the city. Buck a shuck during happy hour. Clam chowder is really good too. Love that they have the oyster crackers on the table in a large bowl along with cocktail sauce and horseradish. You must sit in the bar for dollar oysters and get there early as it's always packed. If your a oyster ...

    Taco Shop Mexican Grill

Probably the most authentic tacos I've had outside of Mexico (with the exception of San Francisco). Good meal deals and an excellent salsa bar! Located in a strip mall outside of downtown Harrisburg.

    Bishop's Collar

A staple for every neighborhood Bar Crawl, Bishop's Collar is a popular spot for all ages. During the week Bishop's Collar is busiest during happy hour, but the crowds level out right around 7pm

    Metro Express Pizza

Actually this place was not so bad. Good I might even say for takeout pizza. They have no seats (takeaway only) and are located right next to the Howard Johnson where I stayed. They have some good deals on special.

    Lancaster Brewing Company

Pretty decent place to eat. I had a steak sandwich and it was quite good for the price. Come here for the beer variety. Features usually around 11 or 12 of Lancaster Brewing Company's beer. Personally I love the Baltic Porter and the 5 grain Amish ale, but the hop hog and Strawberry Wheat, and Milk Stout are quite good ...

Pho Xe Lua Viet Thai Restaurant

    4.5
    2 reviews

This is my go-to place for pho, a Vietnamese noodle in beef broth dish. Rich, intense broth, fresh basil, and generous portions of thinly sliced rare beef (which cooks itself while it is steeped in the steaming broth) make this restaurant's pho a very authentic and flavorful experience. And at $6, this may be the best deal in Philly. Be ...

    Jubilee Restaurant

Only been for breakfast. It's good but more expensive than you may expect from a diner because they class themselves as a true restaurant. Serve lunch and dinner too, with bar attached.

    Subway Dorneyville

Short walk across the street from Dorney Park. Better alternative to the $12 Subway Footlongs inside the park. Staff was fast and friendly and took extra care of our kids. Store was clean.

Tony Luke's Old Philly Style Sandwiches

    4.5
    11 reviews

Although not as well known as some other cheesesteak shops (hey, Pat's, I'm talkin' boutcha), this one just tastes better, I've found, as along as you get the roast pork with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe instead of more traditional chopped steak. It's not too far from the airport either, so make this your first and/or last meal in Philly.
