Tucked away down a quiet lane in the Little India area, Perak Hotel is a small hotel with lots of personality. The hotel occupies a renovated heritage building and they’ve retained many of the original details like the beautiful hardwood floors and shuttered windows. The rooms are on the small side, but impeccably clean and have homey decorations like colourful throw pillows and framed photos on the wall. The TVs are the older-style ones, but on the positive the WiFi is free. The staff really put a lot of effort into making the hotel look its best, and there’s a seating area and display of Asian art on each floor. Overall, it’s a really good value for Singapore and the location is really convenient to the subway and eating at local restaurants.Recommended for:

I quite liked this place. Each stay was enjoyable - the price was good, the local excellent, and the rooms small, but complete. There's a hawker center just around the corner, as is the subway. Orchard Road is walking distance, at least before the heat of the day comes around.

Although it is quite a long-running hotel, the Perak Hotel is a really comfortable place to stay. It’s a nice family run hotel. It may not very impressive when at the lobby, but the ambience created by the really nice, Asian-typed decorations on the upper floors is really inviting and comforting. The rooms are cosy, well-furnished with a decent toilet that is very clean. The beds are very comfortable too with clean linens and fluffy pillows. The top floor also provides a very nice view of the streets and the Little India area along the corridors. Breakfast is served daily in a Peranakan looking dining area with antique looking tables and chairs. The location of the hotel is quite ideal as well as not only is it near an MRT Station, it is also nearby little backstreets in Little India. The Perak Hotel is very much a Southeast Asian experience at an affordable rate.
