Upscale restaurant serving traditional Peruvian dishes. Great food, nice ambiance, and you only pay one third of the price of a comparable place in the US. Highly recommended.

    Brujas de Cachiche

Brujas de Cachiche, located in a historic mansion in a quiet neighborhood near the coast, is an old standard in Lima and a great place to try superbly executed classic dishes from around the country in one stop (especially at the lunch buffet on Tuesday - Friday and Sunday). Some favorites are the "rocoto relleno" (a stuffed rocoto pepper) from ...

Cool place to come get tapas. Their pisco sour is good and strong. This place is Westernized and modern if that is what you are looking for. Try the Cuy (guinea pig)!

The last thing you expect to see in Lima's upscale Miraflores district is something akin to a British Edwardian seaside pier. We found this thanks for reading the memoirs of John Simpson, the BBC's world affairs corresondent. This is home to one of our favourite seafood restaurants in the entire world. And as for whether the Peruvians or Chileans make ...

Pachapapa is so great that we went twice during our 7 day trip to Peru. First for the famous pizza with cured alpaca and second for the guinea pig. Both were so unique and delicious! The outdoor dining area is nicely surrounded by heat lamps for those cold nights in Cusco and the local brewed tea sure will warm you ...

A stalwart of the Miraflores restaurant scene not to be confused with the nearby pyramid ruins, from which it takes its name. With its Peruvian and international menu, as well as location, this place often shows up in top 10 restaurant lists and deservedly so.

    Malabar

Malabar by chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino has been ranked among the 100 best restaurants in the world, and it certainly deserves that title for its innovative menu that takes Peruvian ingredients to a new level. Think: native potatoes made to look like rocks, yucca "shells" died with squid ink, and nests of strips of dried alpaca. While the price tag ...

OMG, really, this place has the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. El Mercado is located on a cross street from Avenida La Mar, where most fancy cevicherías are located, but this is one of the few places where you almost won't find tourists (yet). The ceviches are a piece of heaven, entrées and desserts are worth saving ...

Great Value, delicious and comforting foods, Norky's is a chain of parilla /bbq/rotisserie restaurants that are frequented by locals and adventurous visitors. We had a very delicious and inexpensive meal and we still talk about how great (good food and good prices) that meal at Norky's was.

Once you try an espresso made with freshly roasted beans from Arabica, you will never be able to enjoy your chain-store brew again. David Bisetti, the man at the reigns of an independent coffee shop push in Lima, inherited his love of coffee from his grandfather who opened a roasterie in 1958. He sources his beans from within the country, ...

If you go to Cusco, you have to eat at Jacks. That is, if you want a meal and experience you will remember for the rest of your life. No kidding. CEVICHE!!! SO many varieties offered as well as an extensive seafood menu. Yes, the prices may be considered on the expensive side, but you are paying for cleanliness, safety and your health. The staff was on par. Ambiance was elegant but casual. They have outdoor seating but with big windows to help against the weather.
