This place is great with its food and it's bargain-able products. There are cafés and hotels there too.

Today's Petaling Street, Chinatown KL is more touristy selling tourist twinkets but the fact that it is the original Chinese enclave in KL means the area is also full of history and stories of the original Chinese immigrants and migrant workers' struggle and triumph.

Petaling Street is one of the cool night markets that you can go. Central Market is nearby. If you are into arts and crafts, and cheap stuff, this is the place to go. Need to take care though, there are a lot of pickpockets here.

    国人卖小商品的地方,人比较多,比较拥挤。里面的小吃和附近的关公庙不错,值得一看。小商品的话,看个人兴趣吧~

Packed with loads of good food. Beware of some expensive stalls waiting to pounce on tourists. But if u know where to go, this place is awesome to get your food fix!

This place is set in the heart of Chinatown. If your looking for a deal you can find it here. But beware you can get hustled if you don't know what your looking for. Lots of fake merchandise here but... You'll have that in any major market.

If you like being harassed by stall owners and buying cheap Chinese style trinkets, then be my guest and walk into Petaling Street. This is the "Chinatown" of Kuala Lumpur. I walked in here because there was a close internet cafe nearby. I walked past the stalls to get there and was grabbed by guy trying to sell me God knows what.

The street is busy and packed with people most of the time.

You can find a ton of imitates here (even pirated DVDs that are illegal) sold by locals and mostly foreigners from country like Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia and many others.

Local Chinese food are aplenty here. However, for many first timers and even locals, the surroundings of these food stalls are too dirty for them to finish what is on their plate.

Personally, I don't like it because it can get quite packed sometimes and some stretch of the road will have a strong smell coming from either rubbish piles or clogged drains.

Petaling Street is full of cheesy souvenir sellers. However you can also find some good fruit carts and some tasty restaurants there too.

KL's china town. Filled with street stalls of the normal market goods as well as a ton of food, it is a great place to spend an evening wandering. There are also a lot of decently priced guesthouses along the road where you can get a decent room for a few dollars.

This is the street you come to for imitation designer gear...and cheap singlets! Be prepared to be hassled and to barter for whatever you wish to buy! There are also heaps of tattooist down here which will try and get you to come in....we did plenty of looking around but didn't get inked here.

Description

Let’s face it; southeast Asian cities have a reputation for selling bootleg and pirated goods. If you find yourself in one, chances are your conscious is going to be trumped by the offer of the entire first three seasons of “Mad Men” on DVD for just $3. So where does one go to flirt with piracy and lawlessness? How about this infamous street in Kuala Lampur’s Chinatown. Don’t miss this place just ... read more
because you count yourself among the morally incorruptible, though; there are still plenty of great restaurants, street food vendors, and legit goods for sale.
