The ocean blows through 3 sea-caves directly off the beach on this remote stretch of coastline. The road down to the beach is an adventure in itself. Going north on PCH, when you pass the Ventana Restaurant look for an opening on the left (unmarked) and follow the winding road all the way down to the beach. Yoou will have to pay a $5.00 parking fee, but it is worth it!
Note: Even during the summer, Big Sur's beaches are subject to generally cool weather. Sunny days are sporadic as a blanket of seasonal fog often hugs the coastline, dropping the temperature in the process. To be prepared, bring a change of warm clothes and a pair of sturdy shoes. Big Sur's beaches require at least a short hike.
