Cheese Steak challenge. Who's going to win? Pat or Geno? After touring historic Philadelphia, it was time to settle the cheese steak question. Which one would I like better. At the corner of Passyunk & 9th Street you will find the two iconic cheese steak place in Philadelphia. They are literally across from each other. That gave us the chance ...

Cheese Steak challenge. Who's going to win? Geno or Pat? My coworker & I each bought a sandwich from each place. Armed with 1/2 a sandwich from the iconic cheese steak shop, it was time to decide the winner The cheese steak at Geno's was very good. It had a more tender steak & bigger sliced meat. I ordered it ...

If you want to try a REAL cheesesteak, definitely try Jim's. Not as good as it used to be, but definitely fun for a quick bite before a concert or bar hopping adventures.

    15 reviews

Regardless of your dining preferences, this is a pub-styled establishment with really delicious options! Everything from salads to sandwiches and mussels are great. Once, there was frog legs on the menu and a friend and I wanted to be adventurous. I will stick to the sandwiches and salad. Their beer list is really unique and varied.

Tony Luke's Old Philly Style Sandwiches

    39 E. Oregon Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19148
    4.5
    11 reviews

Although not as well known as some other cheesesteak shops (hey, Pat's, I'm talkin' boutcha), this one just tastes better, I've found, as along as you get the roast pork with sharp provolone and broccoli rabe instead of more traditional chopped steak. It's not too far from the airport either, so make this your first and/or last meal in Philly.

    Alma De Cuba

1623 Walnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103
    4.5
    7 reviews

One of my favorite restaurants in Philly! Alma de Cuba is a modern spin on traditional latin dishes from Cuba, Peru and other countries latin america. The atmosphere is lively and fun, the prices are high, and the food is amazing. The ceviches are good, as was a roasted pork dish I tried. Great cocktails as well.

    Parc

227 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

    11 reviews

Parc is a really great restaurant with an extensive wine list and very knowledgable servers. Everything I've ever ordered has been flavorful and rich. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it can be a bit stuffy and uninviting while waiting to tell someone at the front desk about your reservation. In a city as great as Philadelphia, there are ...

    The Franklin Fountain

116 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19106

    8 reviews

Mountains of homemade vanilla ice cream, covered in dense, fudgey brownie squares, topped with freshly made whipped cream and dusted with malt sprinkles—this is the Franklin Fountain's famous Vesuvius sundae. Get it, share it with some friends (it's best not to mention the calorie count at all), and take in the 1920s-esque decor and the Billie Holiday soundtrack.

While I worked in the University City area of Philadelphia, I used to frequent this place at lunch. The local seasonal ingredients, tasty dishes and fantastic bread were the main attraction. I haven’t been there in a while but I hear that it’s still good and worth visiting. Update: We had dinner here recently. The place has been renovated and ...

Philadelphia's best known third wave cafe that sits on the edge of Rittenhouse square. Known for their high end coffee and focus on flavor, the lines are often long but move quickly. In a city known for its food, this is where foodies in Philly go for their coffee.

Ok, so here's the deal. This restaurant has great ambience. The thing is for the amount you pay per entree (30ish) the food should really all come out at the same time and they should go a little easy on the salt. I would also expect a little more generosity on the bread. Also, to end on a genuine positive ...

Very popular brunch place in town. And there's a reason. Their red velvet pancake is really interesting! The portion is generous, and very home-cooking. I loved their chicken pot pie came out on a skillet. Egg dish is always a good choice. There is a wide range of vegan, gluten free, vegetarian menu.

A little disappointed after hearing great reviews. Brunch is mediocre with a few standouts, but great drinks. I'm sure dinner is delicious, too. Try the chocolate spice cake! Super good! Also very cool interior.

This tiny retail store packs a serious punch. A wallop. Literally made Anthony Bourdain ecstatic when he visited on a show whose title had something to do with Layovers because they sold a cheese he had been searching for incessantly, but could find no where else. My most foodiest friend and I had brunch nearby and I suggested we stop ...

    Amada

217-219 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA 19106

Amada is a great place for tapas (true Spanish tapas), but is pretty expensive. It’s trendy and fun - you typically need a reservation to get in. You can also get a drink and a quick bite at the bar.

The closes restaurant to my hotel (not already in the hotel) is Zahav. It also happens to be one of the highest rated. How lucky can I be. Within walking distance and oh so delicious. The ambiance is perfect for dinner with your friends. Music was playing, but not blaring. Lighting was just right, not dim at all. Service was ...
