This is the temple that most people have in mind when they think of Angkor. It is definitely a highlight of the area and a must see. Take time to linger here and look at the bas reliefs. If possible, read up a bit in advance so that you understand the symbolism. A good spot to visit more than once ...

it's really beautiful, but now it's always crowded cuz everyone HAD to see tomb raider spot...now India is taking care of it, they are trying to keep the harmonious state of trees and rocks still. if u want to see a more none disturbed state,Beng Mealea is a better choice.

Incredible, majestic temple with more than 200 faces of Buddah. Go in the morning to beat the heat and the crowds.

One of amazing temples at Siem Reap. During dry seasons, the heat can be unbearable (at 35c and no wind). Wear lose fitting clothes and hats and bring water. The best time to go is either early in the morning or late afternoon as you can 'avoid' the crowds

The temple is in captivity at huge trees. Trees literally absorbed the temple. The temple represents a number of the long, low buildings connected by galleries and passes. The rectangular wall from a laterite (700Х1000 meters) covers all complex. As the temple was never restored, the part of the territory is filled up with fragments of walls that does these ...

A popular place in the outskirts of town for catching the sunset. But it's a good 10-minute climb up a steep flight of steps before you're rewarded with a view of the surrounding countryside. Not a 'must do' in my opinion but as a stopover after visiting Bantey Srei, it's not bad.

Banyon Temple is one of the most exciting temples to see in Cambodia. Giant face reliefs are carved into stone, they seem to be watching you as you explore the ancient Hindu temple.

A great temple but secondary vs. the majors. If you are on a short trip, I wouldn't prioritize this one. If you want unrestored (a la Ta Prohm), head to Beng Mealea.. it is exceptional.

This is a well known restaurant, and hang out joint, but also a fun place to learn how to cook classic Khmer dishes; we went as a family, and each of us chose their favourite dishes. We learnt to cook, beef with kampot pepper dipping sauce(Loc Lac), a mild fish curry(Amok), different types of salads, etc, and then sat down ...

Please do not go to the Angkor National Museum and go visit the real "museum" by visiting the actual Angkor Wat site. It's a complete waste of time going to this museum. Our tour guide went and had us spend at least an hour checking out random statutes, 20 minutes of which was at the coffee stand (basically it was ...

Ankor What? is located on the famous bar or pub street in downtown Siem Reap. It is one of the oldest bars and brings in a crowd of mostly foreigners and ex-pats pretty consistently. The walls are littered with graffiti giving it a bit of a dive bar feel. Come here to play some pool, meet some foreigners, and have ...

I mentioned to my tuk tuk driver that I wanted to purchase some high quality stonework and silk bags made by local people. They provided us a wonderful tour around the silk, ...
