La Quinta Inn & Suites Phoenix I-10 West

La Quinta Inn & Suites Phoenix I-10 West

    Class:
    2 reviews
Excellent! - 86% of guests recommend

Walking into the lobby of the La Quinta Inn and Suites, I was struck by the elegant modernity: high, vaulted ceilings, with a chandelier hanging over the plush leather sofas facing a large, flat-screen television. In the lobby I had a glass of complimentary ice water – flavored with fresh oranges – a nice touch on a hot day. It ...

    Comfort Inn Phoenix

    Comfort Inn Phoenix

    Class:
    3 reviews
Fair - 70% of guests recommend

For a budget hotel, comfort in has some solid amenities. The pool is large, no short of space to sunbath. I can't stand being shorted on food at hotels and was relieved to see a good sized breakfast area. The fitness room is basic, I am not much of a cardio guy so I passed on the treadmills but if ...

    Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge

    Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge

    Class:
    1 review
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

This place is a full-sized resort. The entrance way looks less like a hotel lobby and more like an airport terminal, with huge windows looking out to the hotel's pools and gardens. And it's huge. The 900+ room resort (all housed within one massive X-shaped building) has hallways big enough to drive a small truck through. But being so big ...

    Legacy Golf Resort

    Legacy Golf Resort

    Class:
    3 reviews
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

Legacy Golf Resort is sort of aptly named – it preserves a legacy of about 15 years ago. When I visited, I only got to see the model room, so my pictures aren't really suggestive of how you may find your room, but it's something your room can...strive to be. Everything from the kitchenette to the tiling in the bathroom ...

Drury Inn & Suites Pinnacle Peak

Drury Inn & Suites Pinnacle Peak

    Class:
    3 reviews

Greeted with a smile, I quite enjoyed myself at the Drury Inn and Suites. I had to know about the name, though. The front desk clerk was happy to tell me that Drury is a family name of the owner. This is no franchise – which kind of sets it apart from the other road-side hotels that are scattered across ...

    Hilton Phoenix Airport

    Hilton Phoenix Airport

    Class:
    1 review
Good! - 78% of guests recommend

Walking into the lobby of the Hilton Phoenix Airport, the first thing that struck me was the décor: a sort of modern twist on the classic Southwestern style, complete with faux blue ocotillo cacti (what the front desk manager, Christine, called her “Avatar” jungle.) This look is present throughout the hotel: from the carpets and drapes are done up in ...

    SpringHill Suites Phoenix Downtown

    SpringHill Suites Phoenix Downtown

    Class:
    1 review
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

When I visited the Springhill Suites, it was in the middle of renovations, so things were a bit…dusty. By the looks of it, the whole hotel is getting a complete overhaul, which should be done by the end of July, 2013. As such, my views are going to be a bit incomplete, but I think I managed to get a ...

The Phoenix Place Hotel & Suites

The Phoenix Place Hotel & Suites

    Class:
    1 review
Good! - 77% of guests recommend

The Phoenix Place Hotel & Suites, formerly a Radisson, is just a mile or so north of Downtown Phoenix proper. What I would call its defining feature is the enclosed backyard “garden,” a spacious alcove perfect for relaxing with the family. Its two pools - complete with artificial waterfalls (under renovation when I visited) - along with a full-sized beach ...

    Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix

    Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix

    Class:
    1 review
Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

When I visited the Hilton Garden Inn, it was undergoing renovations, and there were large black curtains covering up areas of the lobby with exposed concrete. (A teddy bear in a hard hat asked me to “bear” with the construction, so I can’t really complain. That’s just good comedy.) The rooms themselves had been partially updated with modern HD televisions ...

    Fairfield Inn Phoenix Airport

    Fairfield Inn Phoenix Airport

    Class:
    1 review
Very Good! - 84% of guests recommend

The Fairfield Inn Phoenix Airport, as its name implies, is just minutes away from Sky Harbor, and located along a row of hotels which cater to the jetsetter. It’s neighbors with another Marriot Brand, a Courtyard, which doesn’t offer the same complimentary hot breakfast and charges for WiFi (the gall). The Fairfield has been recently renovated (within the past 3 ...

    Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Camelback

    Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Camelback

    Class:
    1 review
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

This place is a bit hard to find. It's tucked away into a shopping center on the south side of Camelback Road between 20th and 22nd streets. Look for the Nordstrom Rack, its right behind that. The Courtyard line of Marriott hotels is one I generally like. Well-designed and surrounding a green center courtyard (and that's generally where the best ...

Extended Stay America Phoenix - Midtown

Extended Stay America Phoenix - Midtown

    Class:
    1 review
Mediocre - 62% of guests recommend

As the name implies, the “Extended Stay” America in Phoenix is designed to fit the needs of guests staying a bit longer than a night or two, but it would do just fine for a weekend getaway as well. Each room is more like a small apartment than a standard hotel room, and comes outfitted with a full kitchen with ...

    Comfort Inn West

    Comfort Inn West

    Class:
    1 review
Excellent! - 88% of guests recommend

Walking in off the street, I was a bit dubious of the quality of the Comfort Inn West. Based on the amount of barbed wire on the walls and fences of local businesses, it may not be in the best part of town. But once inside, I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby was quite spacious, outfitted with modern touches like ...

    Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown North

    Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown North

    Class:
    1 review
Fair - 72% of guests recommend

Recently having been remodeled, the Holiday Inn Phoenix Downtown has a clean, modern look to it. Just walking into the lobby, I was immediately impressed. This 10-story hotel is one of the taller buildings in the area, so you can get some pretty good views from its rooms. A little tip from the front desk attendant: the odd-numbered rooms have ...

Hotel Palomar Phoenix, a Kimpton Hotel

    1 review

The Hotel Palomar in Phoenix was comfortable, clean, and trendy. I didn't spend too much time in the room, but spent plenty of time out by the pool, and returned to the poolside bar for a post-wedding event. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

    Residence Inn Phoenix Airport

    Residence Inn Phoenix Airport

    Class:
    2 reviews
Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

Despite it's name, this Residence Inn isn't at the airport. It's a typical Residence Inn, but also has complimentary grocery shopping service which I haven't noticed at other locations. This one also has a tennis and basketball court. There's a grocery store and a drug store about a half mile away.
