Location is everything, and Hotel Astoria’s best feature is definitely its location. The bilingual staff at the front desk can be a little surly, but knowledgeable, while housekeeping was incredibly nice and courteous. You’re steps away from both Chinatown, Union Square, the Financial District, and close to BART and a handful of MUNI lines that can take you anywhere across ...

Gaylord Suites is a hotel property for those looking to stay in San Francisco longer but aren’t looking for something like a rental apartment. They are a “corporate hotel,” described in their own words. The excellent location and beautiful property place it somewhere between a traditional hotel and a condo. Terms go from weekly to longterm, and their rooms are ...

What is cheap to some is frugal to others. Let’s face facts. Traveling can be expensive but with a little ingenuity, it doesn’t have to be. My trip to SF started out with a taxi ride to Kennedy Airport. What happened to the $30 flat fee? Well, it’s now $45. Ouch! Has it been that long since I’ve flown? Land ...

Nob Hill Hotel is a beautiful and classic historical building located close to Union Square and within walking distance to the Polk Street Corridor. The decor is antique/ vintage so not all the rooms are the same, but it they all have a little bit of classic beauty of the Victorian era. Not a lot of people can say they've ...

Stepping into Grant Plaza Hotel is a nice escape from Chinatown's Grant Street which boasts shop after shop of trinkets and souvenirs. The chandeliers, couches, fake fireplace, and orchids in the lobby feel like walking into someone's living room. If you want a no-frills hotel that is in the middle of it all - near the heart of Chinatown, and ...

I love this neighborhood. If you want to be close to some real local joints but still within walking distance of downtown, Hotel Carlton is a good choice. Polk Street is just a few blocks west, where you’ll find amazing bars and restaurants. Geary Street is just south, where you can reach a number of ethnically diverse restaurants. You don’t ...

What a goofy little hotel that is built around the theme of the Canterbury tales. The place is a little old and run down, but we found an amazing deal online. It's great for giggles and the location near Union Square. I probably won't stay there again, but it was fun to say that I have before!

I absolutely love this hotel for all its character, elegance, and slightly worn in appeal. This is not a hotel you stay in for clean lines and all the latest contemporary amenities. It's far too boutique and special. I loved my Jr. suite with its tiny twin canopy beds, the small sitting area right next to the beds, and my ...

Aida Hotel, located on the corner of Market and 7th Street, is budget-friendly no-frills hotel in a historical building that was once owned by a previous San Francisco mayor. The building itself is beautiful, and the lobby, littered with old jukeboxes, chandeliers, and seating reminds me of old San Francisco past.
