It is one of the better beaches in Phuket island. It is less crowded than the Patong beach. It can be an alternative choice to island hopping

Very fun and relaxing place to walk around in. Summer hotel for only 230 baht. Lots of cafes and bars to visit.

This is my favourite beach in Phuket. Clean and awesome waves. It can sometimes just get a bit too touristy and crowded.

Pretty cool little beach in Phuket. We stopped here because I noticed a surfboard rental shack so I wanted to check it out. The rental was pretty cheap and they had a range of longboards/shortboards and boogy boards.

There is also a person walking around the beach that can get you drinks from the nearby drink shack. We ordered coconuts and watermelon juice that were really thirst quenching.

There were a lot of lounge chairs scattered throughout the beach, but you had to pay to use them. Not expensive though.

I spent a month taking a class in Phuket Town, and while there isn't too much to do in the town (it is NOT by the beach) it is a reasonably priced area with a lot of cheap food and decent night life. All the beaches are a 200B ride away and you can do anything from rent motorbikes to the cinema to the hospital in Phuket Town. However, when you mentally picture Phuket, you are NOT picturing Phuket Town!

I'd go back to Phuket in a heart beat. The people are some of the friendliest I've met, and the island in itself is gorgeous. With beautiful beaches, an active night life, and delicious seafood, Phuket is a great destination for that adventure-like opportunity in Asia.

Once in Phuket, you can also take tours out to see Khao Tapu, which today is known as "James Bond Island" - this location is where they filmed scenes for the Bond movie "The Man with the Golden Gun." - Definitely not to be missed when you're in Phuket!

Surely worth the flight out from Bangkok if you're planning a trip to Thailand!

Description:

Phuket Town, officially named Phuket City in 2004, offers alluring beaches and around the clock activities, including an exciting nightlife, fine dining, shopping, museums and an interesting history to explore. There are both modern and authentic Thai attractions to enjoy. Discover the Shrine of Serene Light, an old Chinese shrine featuring intricate carvings and large murals. Khao Rang, a hill on the northwest side of the city, offers great views and some good restaurants. In Old Town, view majestic colonial mansions built in the Sino-Portuguese style. The discovery of tin in Phuket in the 16th century brought Portuguese, French and British traders. In the 19th century, thousands of Chinese laborers were hired, adding to the culture.
