I love the Piazza Navona, especially during the week in the early spring and winter when there are fewer tourists. The restaurants in the square are a bit touristy, but it is nice a place to soak up the atmosphere. The history of the city can be seen in this piazza, especially the "Four Rivers Fountain" by Bernini and the Chiesa di Sant'Agnese in Agone that stands in front of it. This piazza is an expression of their artistic rivalry in the city. There are two other fountains at opposite ends of the piazza, and there are also some museums, cafes and shops nearby.

Less than 15 minutes walk from the apartment, in the middle of nightlife, you will walk by it many times!

I wen to this Piazza with my friend at 1:00am and there was no one there at all, just the three magnificently lit fountains. so we took advantage to take a long photo-shoot session. I don't know how it's like during the day but it's definitely worth to pass by at any time.

Piazza is one of the main historic plazas in Rome featuring fountains and monuments. The open square means it can get pretty lively and crowded, especially at night. The scene is atmospheric with diners eating outside of cafes and restaurants and shops selling an assortment of goods.

Gorgeous plaza that is removed enough from the major sights to retain its charm. One of my two favorite plazas in the city.

Piazza Navone is one of the alive hearts of Rome. it is wide in a really strategic position. Bernini works are the main characters of the square, even though there is a little mess beacause of local sellers of souvenirs. you could start from here to take a walk in Via del Governo Vecchio for shopping and eating something.

I almost didn't go to Piazza Navona with all of the other things to do in Rome, even though I was staying just a couple of blocks from it. I'm glad I did though. Besides all the fountains and wonderful architecture, there's always something going on. I ended up buying a lot of local art from the people set up in the square.

the Piazza Navona is a piazza in Rome that is filled with life! Lively from the people, lively from the beautiful fountains, and lively from the wonder surrounding architecture.

Piazza Navona is always a delight but it's at it's best at night. It's free of cars, so you can wander, gelato in hand, free to enjoy the Neptune Fountain, the Four Rivers fountain, people watch, shop, and take in the grandeur of this open public space.

It is one of Rome's liveliest squares, with many outdoor cafes & restaurants .
You can see many painters siitting and drawing and you can buy the drawings .

Photogenic square - very beautiful. Small alleys lead to old city blocks. Good place to sit down at cafe and just watch people go by. The horse carriage ride are ridiculously expensive - be sure to haggle. This is often crowded in day time.

Ah, Piazza Navona! It's so beautiful and really exudes all the charm of Rome. Bustling with tourists and locals, street musicians, artists and more. Check it out at least once if you are in the city. The fountains are breathtaking (but hang on to your valuables as pickpockets are all over the place). This is my most favorite piazza in all of Rome. When you picture Rome in your head, this is the place you are thinking of. You won't be disappointed.

This is great place to visit day or night. At night the monuments are lit up and they look awesome.

Description

A spectacle of nightlife, restaurants, vendors and classical sculptures and fountains, Piazza Navona is one of the best places in Rome to spend a little free time doing nothing. Relax by the fountain of Neptune and watch the people go by. You may not decide to eat the piazza-proper more than once, simply because the restaurants here are pricey (you pay extra for the location), but it's certainly ... read more
an interesting thing to try once; you'll feel like a tourist and the food will be "okay", but you'll enjoy the sights and the sounds-- like a circus.
