The Piccadilly's concrete floors and individually painted yet slightly industrial rooms make for an interesting institution. This hostel means business, and the breakfast room's colors are so bright they can replace caffeine as a wake-up agent. Still, the price is definitely right, the staff are really friendly, and the location is very central, making a quick stopover in London easy on the wallet and navigational skills.

This was the first hostel I ever stayed in and had a decent experience. Just graduating from college and being on a budget trip, this place was just the ticket. I traveled with 3 other friends, so we ended up sharing a room with 2 bunk beds. The rooms had just enough space for the beds and 1 piece of each of our carry-on luggage. The room was also equipped with a sink. Staying here was like being back in college. Besides sharing close quarters with others, the restrooms were also shared, but were not co-ed. The men and women each had their own restrooms/shower areas. The hostel also offered a simple breakfast of coffee or juice and some toast. They also had a small internet cafe, but you have to pay to use it. Last time I was here, there was no elevator, so make sure you pack light or else you will be dragging your belongings up the stairs like some of the people that I saw. The best thing about this hotel was the location since it was pretty much in the center of Picadilly Circus, and very close to many theater houses. One evening as we were walking back to the hostel, we were able to catch a glimpse of Ewan McGregor signing autographs for fans after one of his shows (Guys and Dolls).

This is located right in the heart of London, and has many transport options nearby. Also just a hop, skip and jump from Regent Street and Trafalgar Square.

An extremely basic crashpad, but super inexpensive, on the bustling Piccadilly district in central London. A TV lounge, a basic breakfast, vending machines, a laundry room, basic linens and blankets, a Internet Cafe along with complimentary Wi-Fi Internet are amenities offered to all guests. Set on five (5) floors structure, are the funky hostel’s rooms fitted with hundreds of beds that are divided into private double rooms, pod beds, small and medium size female only and mixed dormitories. Both the beds and bathrooms are not really clean, mostly noisy, and in-room lockers are not enough to all guests. The reception desk is continually friendly and helpful. The house hostel is greatly located of off Piccadilly underground station, and the perfect location for exploring Leicester Square, the Theatreland, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Soho, Green and Hyde Parks, the Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and the great Regent and Oxford shopping streets.

The rooms were very cold and small, and the building seemed to be at risk for some sort of major hazard. The water also never got hot, which was quite miserable in a bathroom with windows that don't close in the middle of winter. The food (which wasn't free) was absolutely nothing to write home about.

Description:

This big London hostel's budget accommodations include extras like free linen, 24 hour access, free showers, and individually painted murals on some of the dormitory walls. A travel shop takes care of concierge jobs like tickets for shows, and the common rooms is open 24 hours a day, with TV and foosball. The location, just behind Piccadilly Circus, is extremely central. Nightly outings are organized, from pub crawls to club hopping, which makes this hostel a good choice for the friendly traveller.
