There is really not much of anything to Picton other than the fact that the inter-island ferry stops there. One of the best things about the town is the approach on the ferry through to the town through the sounds.Recommended for:

Love Picton! A small town on the coast, is a gateway to the South Island from Wellington by ferry. As you approach the South Island, you go through Marlborough Sound and Queen Charlotte Sound to name a couple. Gorgeous scenery you'll see on the ferry. One of the most spectacular ferry rides in the world it has been called. I definately agree!
