I love that they have a sampler option - for just $10 you get to try 3 types of chowder with unlimited bread and crackers. My favorite was the dill and scallop one.

I also want to give a shout out to Zach, who let me try out some other ones like their vegan chowder (which tasted more like soup).

Highly recommended! I tried clam chowder and seafood bisque. Both of them are amazingly GREAT! Only problem is the shop is quite small and might no enough sitting area.

This chowder is EXCELLENT. Creamy, chock full of clams, flavorful. They also have little crab sandwiches. Their other chowders and soups are also great. I will always stop here when visiting Pike Place.

Amazing. Get your chowder in one of their sourdough bread bowls - it ups the experience. Pro Tip: if you see an open table while you're in line and you've got another person or two in your party, have them grab it. The restaurant is short on seating.

Chowders are delicious and the staff is very friendly and patient with tourists pouring through the door. Negative is the extremely limited seating and generally limited amenities in the surrounding area. Great find when they're not crazy busy. Otherwise, I would move along.

The chowder is delicious here, but not as amazing as I expected. I had better chowder at some other places in Seattle, but the chowder is still really good here. There are many different types to choose from (manhattan, new england clam chower, salmon chowder, scallop chowder, etc) and they serve different ones on different days. The line can get really long, but it moves fast!

Pike Place Chowder is no secret, but it really is that amazing. Get the regular clam chowder, and your tastebuds with thank you. The Salmon Chowder was ok, it just tasted like liquified creamy smoked salmon. Go regular, or get a sampler!

It sounds like a tourist thing, but honestly, who can resist grabbing some clam chowder at the Pike Place Market? I couldn't and after tasting the clam chowder at Pike Place Chowder, I'm glad I caved in to Seattlite ritual.

This is the best place to go for chowder lovers. New England clam chowder with bacon(!), salmon chowder, scallop chowder, and seafood bisque are the usuals here. They are all delicious, but if you can't decide, you can always order their sampler and try most, if not all of them. They do close early, at 5, I believe, so make sure to stop by before then.

As good as they say it is. A small was enough, but if you check in on Yelp, you get a coupon for a sampler platter-- split it with a friend. Highly recommended, plus the oyster crackers are of another kind. A must if you visit Seattle.

Fantastic clam chowder, best I've ever had, but what's even better is their seafood bisque, which has a great variety of seafood ingredients. They do tend to run out of bread bowls later in the day so try to go early!

Ok, so the accolades won by this place is well worth the trip. And, noting all the hype, it's definitely a great clam chowder (this coming from a gal that LOVES clam chowder). And, I love that this place is pretty unpretentious and humble about it. The simple soup kitchen, counter-top dining-style is really refreshing for a place that really specializes in one thing and knows it's good at it. The only reason I give this a four-star is because despite the first bite being out of this world, as I continued to eat it became more and more salty with each bite. Clam chowders often have the problem of being too salty. However, I should disclaimer that I'm highly sensitive to salt and also, I think sprinkling the salty oyster crackers affected the chowder. Should I return, I would definitely lay off the oyster crackers. Still a great chowder though!

So here I'm lost in Seattle by Pike place and that damn pig that is idolized, far away from my confines of LA and such. The original plan was to go to some seafood joint that my friend claimed was good per word of mouth but unfortunately for fortunately it was closed for construction.

So we headed to Pike Place and asked where was a good place to eat, the man selling flowers told us go to Pike Place Chowder. I checked it up on yelp and it had 4 and a half stars. So must be good, not only was it good but quite understanding.

At first I was worried because it had no line, anything good and no line, that is something absurd where Im from, but low and behold that was not the case. I ordered your tradition new england clam chowder bread bowl and the Bay Shrimp Roll. Now The bay shrimp roll was good, tasted better when you put the sauce on it, but the chowder was amazing! Damn, I had never had any chowder quite like this, even when I went to Boston or the Yay. Livin in LA I dont know any chowder quite as good as this.

So guess what the next day, we went again!! This time I wanted to try everything, so I got the Sampler of 4 chowders and they still give you 2 generous pieces of bread, the Seafood Bisque was almost as great if not as the New England one. I had the special of the day chorizo chowder, which was divine as well though not as good as the OG one and Seafood Bisque. Smoked salmon was ok, maybe the salmon was too overpowering. Anyways if Im ever in Seattle again Im hitting up pike and grabbing some New England Clam and Seafood Bisque - yum!!
