Piknic is a great date spot or if you're just looking to chill at the bar, dine out on the patio area on a beautiful day, or have lunch with a friend. Either way, it works.

We came here as sort of a late birthday celebration. A wall of water separates the dining area from the bar. We sat at the bar with a few locals and caught the game and some bar banter. It was a good vibe. I was impressed with a low lighting, moody decor, and seats. Some bar stools can be uncomfortable, these were actually padded so that you could stay, dine, and visit for a bit especially if you're watching the TV that's above the bar area. Nice.

For dinner, there's a main menu and a bar menu. We ordered from both and took some suggestions from patrons and the bartender. We came up with nachos, pesto flatbread, and the blackened shrimp. All great suggestions that lived up their name.

Service was friendly and quick. The bartender kept the vibe going, kept the drinks flowing (strong!), and it was a fun place to dine for the night. I'd love to be back to try the other menu offerings and chill in the dining room.

This place is really chill, and a bit like a secret gem of Playa del Rey area, a restaurant within a sea of condominiums. They let you dine outside with dogs, and have really cute seating areas for two. Service is great, they checked up on us a lot and automatically brought out a bowl with water for the dogs. Food is really tasty- breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and soups. Their Picknic Club is bursting with avocado, so thumbs up there! Usually comes with fries but you can do sweet potato fries or curly fries for a small charge.
