    Lonsdale Quay Market

0.2 mi from Pinnacle Hotel At The Pier

    7 reviews

Lonsdale Quay Market is adjacent to the ferry "Seabus" station on the North Shore. It's worth a visit! It's a bit like a mini-Granville Island market with quite a few decent stalls selling fresh fish, meats, cheese, veggies, as well as a few retail and art shops and small restaurants. When I lived in North Vancouver, I loved wandering through ...

Lovely shop which sells not only fresh meats (as the name suggests), but also British-style meat pies and a TON of British imported goodies like teas, candies, chocolates and other packaged goods. Lots of expats make a special trip to this place from other parts of town!

Stroll through the lively market, browse boutiques or picnic with the pigeons on Granville Island, one of the most popular spots in Vancouver. Beyond the market, there are enough boutiques, restaurants and little galleries to make winding through the picturesque lanes worthwhile.

Gastown used to be run down and no where a tourist would go, but over 30 years ago, it got a facelift and made into a tourist destination. Now, it is somewhere that has for me become too touristy with fast food and souvenir shops dominating the heritage streets. There are some nice design stores amongst the tourist crowded streets.

Gorgeous aquatic facility with great exhibits and a true conservation ethic. Possibly one of the most gorgeously located aquariums in the world, although Monterey might have them beat by a hair. Recently went through a major expansion with tons more to see and do.

Cycling, rollerskating or walking the seawall on a sunny day in Vancouver is just perfection. If you're lucky, you might see any number of adorable animals - my favourite day included a family of sea otters :)

Nice place to walk around the see the bay. There always seem to be cruise ships docked here during the summers - we saw two of them while we were there. The best though was a new experience they have started called "Fly over Canada". This is a 4D experience which simulates flying from the east coast to the west ...

if you like old steam train, or nicely engineered object, you will love this clock. Kind of interesting to see how it works. I don't find the place where the clock stands to be the best place as it's almost in the middle of a street.

Grouse Mountain is about 15 - 20 minutes outside of Vancouver, but totally worth the trip. You can ski, snowboard, ice skate in the winter, and hike and check out the wildlife in the summer. I have not tried them, but I hear they have paragliding and ziplines as well. The skyride up the mountain has some spectacular views. I ...

The Vancouver Chinatown is where the original groups of Chinese immigrants settle. Of all the Chinatowns I have visited in different cities, the Vancouver one is sadly one of my least favorites. It lacks "character" and feels unsafe. (really?! can that be?)
