- Playa LimonFirst to ReviewNov 07, 2013
Way off the beaten track is Playa Limon, a long, sweeping, and gorgeous beach lined with a thick forest of coconut trees--a Caribbean beach at its best. Though tour groups occasionally stop here, you'll pretty much have it to yourself most days. Be sure to BYO drinks and eats--there are no businesses or vendors on the beach. (No worries if you forget provisions--Rancho La Cueva is a nearby hotel/restaurant; it caters mostly to tour groups but will serve anyone).
Playa Limon is located outside of the village of El Cedro, about 1.5-2 hours north of Punta Cana, off Route 104; the easiest way to get here on your own is by rental car or taxi. Gua guas from Higuey and Miches stop in El Cedro too; from there, you can hire a motoconcho to take you to the beach.
