My grandfather and father owned a gasoline station for years and even years later, I'm always on the lookout for what's left this unique architecture. I did a double take today when I walked past this Crown Station today and later stopped in for gas and a chat.
According to the guy there (and the old pictures posted), the station is 1930s vintage and with sort of a mission revival style feel. The lot is about as big as the station and the pumps can be accessed both from the outside and underneath the overhang. The back area was probably some sort of service bay in it's time, but now only makes room for a cramped convenience store space. The building is in great shape and in terms of a classic service station, it really doesn't get any better than this. The prices are among the lowest in town too.
