Nestled in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, this resort is majestic. Because it’s located at the base of a mountain, all I could do was look up with my jaw dropped. The buildings are painted shades of the desert terrain and the views are truly stunning. By day, a guest can enjoy a crisp view of Phoenix’s north mountains by day; and by night, they can delight in the twinkles of the stars and city life in the distance. I, personally, feel the hotel offers everything to a visitor or ‘staycationer’; from the eco-friendly, green sustainable four-star golf course at their Lookout Mountain Golf Club to The Falls Village – a mini waterpark with slides, water features and rentable cabanas. Guests can stay and play. The Tocalamo Spa and Salon offers seven treatment rooms, and hair and nail stations. There are two tennis courts, a gift shop and a friendly concierge. Plan a wedding here, honeymoon here or simply stay over on your wedding night (I did). You will not be disappointed.

Pointe Hilton has a different feel, but a good one. Don't let the small lobby fool you, the property is huge. They have 8 pools, several restaurants, the rooms are all suite style and there are a bazillion buildings on the property, you get the idea. 2 of the pools are separated by a swim up bar, awesome! The rooms are basic but nice; You most likely will not be spending much time in the rooms at this resort. I don't get too crazy reviewing rooms because I prefer checking out all the fun activities I can do. They are known in the area for hosting some pretty cool parties at their pools. On top of the mountain their fine dining restaurant shows off some of the best views in the city.
