Pok Pok Restaurant

3226 Southeast Division Street, Portland, OR
46 reviews

This is not simply a restaurant. It's an eating experience -- and a highly affordable one. In a city, Portland, known for its vast variety of ethnic cuisines, Pok Pok stands out because it virtually duplicates the kinds of things you would get on the streets of Bangkok -- it's famous street food. The owner spent years there learning the ...

    Salt & Straw

Love the unique flavors that take advantage of what's local and in season. Highly recommend the blue cheese and pair. I know, it sounds weird, but it's really good. Get a few different flavors! This is a good spot to kill some time while you're waiting for a table at Pok Pok down the street.

    Sen Yai

0.11 mi from Pok Pok Restaurant
    1 review

The most authentic Thai food I've had in Portland. It's also the best kept secret for a Portland brunch. Avoid the long lines at the standard brunch spots and have typical, fresh, Thai food for breakfast . The jok, pantangko and iced coffee are my favorites. Never crowded in the morning. Kid friendly.

    Flying Cat Coffee Co.

0.1 mi from Pok Pok Restaurant

I can never get enough good coffee in Portlandia. And as I was walking down Division, the feline name alone brought me in. Staff was friendly and efficient, the interior was cozy and warm, and Flying Cat does plain black coffee very well. And sometimes that's all I ask during my travels.

    Pine State Biscuits

0.86 mi from Pok Pok Restaurant
    14 reviews

Pine State Biscuits serves freshly baked biscuits. My personal favorite is the biscuit with egg and cheese. Of course, if I'm really hungry I go for the Reggie and McIsley, two biscuit sandwiches with a massive piece of fried chicken in the middle. Also, make sure you show up early. Pine State Biscuits has limited seating and gets packed very ...

    The Waffle Window

0.57 mi from Pok Pok Restaurant

Was probably expecting too much, but cute concept with good waffles. Not sure if they were my favorite though. They have an outdoor community seating area where you feel like you're out eating on a picnic table.

    Tao of Tea

0.83 mi from Pok Pok Restaurant

If the Chinese Garden is a quiet oasis from hectic Portland, Tao of Tea is an oasis from the tourists who visit the Chinese Garden. This two-story restaurant overlooks the gardens and offers more types of loose tea than you knew existed. Add traditional furniture and music, plus small bites, for a relaxing break.

This is one of my favorite stores in Portland Oregon on Hawthorne Blvd. Its my best spot for picking up some of the best Mortadella to make my Muffalatta. It has some great cheese selections and great meat selections that you can't normally find in any ordinary store. The people who work here are great and super friendly.

A trip to Portland is incomplete without Stumptown coffee. This location on SE Belmont is relatively low-key, with nice exposed brick decor and a more neighborhoody vibe than downtown. It also has the advantage of being three blocks from my relatives' house. ;)

Portland...it's all about the freedom to do pretty much whatever you want, but with a community minded spirit. As such, quality of life and value are high on the list of Portland's priorities. If you're on a budget but want to eat healthy, Portland is the right place to do it.
