I'm jumping on the crab soup fan train after eating here. I'm usually not a fan of crab, but it wasn't too overpowering and was perfect for a cold winter night. They also serve a really great pork chop and grilled brussel sprouts, and my John Daly was mixed to perfection. Unfortunately I couldn't try their bourbon pecan pie because earlier diners had gobbled it all up, but I'll save that for my next trip.Recommended for

I am from Texas, so can't vouch for how South Carolina the cuisine was, but it was excellent cuisine. Had the cheese fritters, and she crab soup. The soup was superb. For dinner had the seared scallops and they were perfect. Finally has the apple bourbon crush, which is my new winter drink thanks to Poogan's Porch. Will returns any and every time I am back in Charleston.

Okay, yes: I'm addicted to she crab soup (most of my reviews of South Carolina mention it in some way). But Poogan's Porch serves the best of the best, along with butterily perfect biscuits and crisp fried alligator. They serve up all the SC favorites, but with modern twists: fried chicken with smoked gouda, shrimp and grits topped with blue crab gravy.
