The Port Hotel reminds me of an old-timey ship, decorated in deep browns and cool blues. It's located down the street from Tel Aviv's port, which is full of restaurants and nightlife. The lobby is beautiful and comfortable, with many options for sitting and relaxing. I left my phone at the hotel and almost lost my mind looking for it. Thankfully, the clerk put the phone aside and gave it back to me with no fuss. I was deeply grateful! So, the front desk was honest and altogether awesome. The rooms are small and comfortable, with no views to speak of, but the design fits in with the whole ship theme. Even the elevator is similarly designed, although quite small. The Port Hotel is a great, moderately-priced place to stay in north Tel Aviv. It's definitely worth a look.

Modern and classic at the same time, the Port Hotel feels a bit retro, like Audrey Hepburn might show up at anytime with oversized sunglasses and a giant hat. Black and white in bold, bright patterns, the hotel is beautiful, tidy and minimalist. The staff is friendly and helpful, though in a crunch, might feel a bit short-staffed. Rooms are a bit on the snug side, as can be expected by travelers who are interested in quality, yet affordable accommodations. The one major reservation is that the building next door is under renovations, which means that during the daytime, the hotel vibrates with construction and banging. Once the renovations are completed, however, the hotel will be a great value - a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location in the North.
