You absolutely must try a Chicago-style hot dog while in the Windy City, and Portillo's is one of the oldest and the best. What started as a single hot dog stand in 1963 is now a chain of more than 40 restaurants. Pair your hot dog with cheese fries for a full meal.Recommended for:Foodies

You can't visit Chicago and not get a hot dog from Portillo's! The shakes are delicious too.
Their menu has a bit of everything so if you're in the mood for something more hearty, they're also well known for their award winning ribs, steak sandwiches and pastas.
Perfect spot to bring the family. Make sure to stop into the Rock n Roll 2-story McDonald's across the street too. It's unlike any other Mickey D's you've ever seen.Recommended for:Family Travelers

The place is pretty stylish and their menu will please almost everyone since they serve burgers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, soup and hot dogs - their speciality.
I'm not a huge fan of american hot dogs (like brazilian ones better) - cause I still think that there is more to hot dogs than bun, sausage, relish, pickles and onions - but anyways, their hot dog is good, not amazing (still need to find an american hot dog that will win over the brazilian ones). I had their Jumbo Dog and ended up thinking it was too much hot dog for a single bun, but it was good.
The beer glasses here are huge, so enjoy every bit of it.
