    Mother's Bistro & Bar

The wait on a Sunday morning was nearly an hour and a half. The food was good, but wouldn't normally have been worth the wait, however they provide coffee and a seating area, plus they will text you when a table opens up so you can walk around nearby. The decor was really cool and I would probably go again, ...

    Huber's Cafe

    8 reviews

Huber's claim is to be the oldest bar restaurant on Portland. It certainly feels like a classic. Their signature Spanish Coffee, a delicious blend of Bacardi 151, triple sec, khalua, cream and FIRE comes with an impressive table side assembly show. Happy hour apps are tasty and cheap!

    Salt & Straw

Love the unique flavors that take advantage of what's local and in season. Highly recommend the blue cheese and pair. I know, it sounds weird, but it's really good. Get a few different flavors! This is a good spot to kill some time while you're waiting for a table at Pok Pok down the street.

    Sterling Coffee Roasters

    3 reviews

It is so hard to choose which coffee is the best in a city like Portland. But this tiny little shop on 21st had to be my favorite. Friendly staff and full service. But get there early, they are only open until mid-day and then the place switches over to a popular wine bar in the evenings. So hip because ...

Delicious pizza and amazing service! They overcooked out pie just the slightest bit and gave us a second one for free! We were also entered into a raffle for a change to win a brand new bicycle! Yummy food and great experience!

Come for the ice cream tacos, stay for the chorizo and chips! EuroTrash's signature housemade potato chips are so sought after, that I followed the truck to Singapore for the first annual World Street Food Congress a year ago. But you don't need to fly to Asia to try some of the best international mash-up cuisine on the planet. Portland, ...

    Stumptown Coffee Roasters

    2 reviews

A trip to Portland is incomplete without Stumptown coffee. This location on SE Belmont is relatively low-key, with nice exposed brick decor and a more neighborhoody vibe than downtown. It also has the advantage of being three blocks from my relatives' house. ;)

    Bijou Cafe

Brunch is big business in Portland, and this downtown cafe is one of the city's most loved establishments. The food here is mostly sourced from local producers and they strive to use as many organic ingredients as possible. They do breakfasty takes of NW regional cuisine quite well--the oyster hash and the vegan tofu scramble are particularly popular. It's a ...

    St. Johns Theater & Pub

    2 reviews

This place got a bazillion cool points in my book when I was in Portland during the weekend of The Walking Dead season premiere. The Airbnb we rented didn't come with a TV, and we were afraid of encountering spoilers on social media. Somehow, we found out that this theater hosts a free screening of The Walking Dead (and other ...

    Café Nell

"Shut up and play the hits", they say. Cafe Nell does exactly that! Off the beaten tourist path, this homey restaurant gives the people what they want during flickering fireplace-warmed dinners and brunches alike. During the sunnier summer months, which admittedly are few tucked this far up in the NW, kick back a cocktail on Cafe Nell's gorgeous patio. Expect ...

Really cool and unique experience! It's a culinary school but when they have classes in session they do a several course service for both lunch and dinner! It was fantastic!
