After my Son's Parent Teacher Conference, I drove over and took the Kid to the 3rd Floor of the OHSU Center for Health and Healing. This is the building down below from "Stratos", home of the OHSU Cloud Minders. It's at the foot of the tram and right next to the really cool ship building yard. The hardest thing about ...

Beautiful day in the Columbia River Gorge. The re is an easy 0.2 mile hike to the little bridge, or a steep 1.0 mile hike to the top. Would like to try the lodge restaurant but today they just have an Easter buffet.

    White Stag Sign

White Stag sign, Portland, OR 97209, USA
    1 review

The 1940s vintage White Stag sign features a an exterior neon outline of the State of Oregon, the glowing letters of Portland Oregon inside and "Rudolph" (whose red nose shines bright during the Holidays) on top. Anyone who has come to Portland hasn't really visited the Rose City unless they have seen this Old Town sign.

    Broadway Bridge

    Portland, OR, United States
    15 reviews

I am actually not a super big fan of this bridge. While I like most of the bridges in Portland, this one is just very small. It also does not connect very important parts of Portland together.

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry

1945 Se Water Ave, Portland, OR 97214
    31 reviews

OMSI is great fun. Although it's tailored to children, adults will have a good time too. A walk through the submarine moored at the dock is a must, and catching a show in the OMNImax (think IMAX, but with a curved screen) is spectacular.

    International Rose Test Garden

400 Southwest Kingston Avenue, Portland, OR 97205-5883
    27 reviews

This place has some similarities to the Berkeley Rose Garden. I'm only giving the International Rose Test Garden 4 Stars this time around, because nothing was really in bloom and there was no killer view of Mt. Hood in the Portland background. Past that, this is a beautiful place to walk and contemplate in any season, and well worth the ...

I really enjoy the Portland Saturday (and Sunday) market when I'm in town. I especially like the arts and crafts booths that are closer to the bridge. Several years ago I bought a nice door harp that is still decoratively next to my front door. Recent discoveries include a woman who sells some really nice hand sewn notebooks, Duncan's Woods ...

    Pearl District

1022 Northwest Marshall Street, Portland, OR 97209-2988
    31 reviews

You will either love or hate this part of Portland. The Pearl District has undergone quite a make over the last 20 years and is now a hipster, cool, trendy part of the city. Plenty of high dollar restaurants and bars dot the neighborhood and has priced out many locals.
